Alleviating hunger in eastern Illinois.

About us

OUR MISSION Eastern Illinois Foodbank exists to alleviate hunger in eastern Illinois. WHAT WE DO Eastern Illinois Foodbank is a member of the Feeding America network, and is the primary food source for food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and other programs working to feed neighbors facing food insecurity. The Foodbank acquires millions of pounds of food and grocery product through purchase or donation and distributes it across our network of more than 160 feeding programs. Together, we’re working to create a hunger-free eastern Illinois. By partnering with EIF, emergency food programs are able to save millions of dollars each year in food purchase and handling costs. These savings allow them to focus their efforts and funds on more effectively working to alleviate hunger in our area. The Foodbank also operates programs targeted to children, seniors, and veterans. We fight hunger in communities throughout these 18 counties in eastern Illinois: Champaign Clark Clay Coles Crawford Cumberland DeWitt Douglas Edgar Ford Iroquois Jasper Livingston McLean Moultrie Piatt Vermilion Woodford

  • As Director of Sales & Marketing at I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center, Kelsie helps guests with events like Prom...you may have heard of it? After volunteering at EIF and learning more about the challenges hunger provide for local families, she's excited to help raise both awareness and funds. Because of digestive issues when she was young, Kelsie is grateful for the family and friends who helped her figure out what food worked best for her. Now, she loves trying new things at Sun Singer, baking, and indulging in her favorite food of all: chocolate. You can help Kelsie take home the crown! Every $1 donated is a vote for Kelsie, and provides three meals to our community: https://lnkd.in/gQR7nfqD

  • Want to know what's filling our hearts this Valentine's Day? Bloomington Hy-Vee, Inc. store manager Nick for stopping by for a tour of EIF—and to celebrate that his store has raised almost 490,000 meals for our community since they launched their 100 Million Meal Campaign! We're so grateful to our friends at Hy-Vee for their continued partnership with Feeding America, which empowers food banks like EIF to feed our neighbors experiencing hunger. ❤️

  • Liz is a foodie, and loves that she can bring that into her work as Regional Community Liaison for SYNERGY HomeCare through her Heart Healthy cooking classes for seniors. In her work, she sees the impact food insecurity has on local seniors, and is excited to make a difference by raising funds to provide more meals to the community. Her go-to restaurant is Sun Singer, and she loves pizza...and her hot take is that pineapple DOES belong on pizza! If you want Liz to be crowned Prom Queen, vote now! Every $1 donated is a vote for Liz, and provides three meals to our community: https://lnkd.in/gqkuXkpM

  • Emily works as a Sales Manager at WCIA 3 News, and believes building a network of compassion will strengthen our community. Because she grew up in a low-income household, she knows firsthand that having a nourishing meal on the table is unfortunately a privilege, and not a right, for many. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, because she loves that it brings family and friends together to enjoy meals made with love. Emily loves to cook, but won't turn you down if you ask her to grab dinner at La Bahia! Emily wants the crown, but she needs your help! Every $1 donated is a vote for Emily, and provides three meals to our community: https://lnkd.in/gJkzKfpa
