Young farmers, what are the challenges to accessing the farming sector? Have your say! 👨🏻🌾If you are a young farmer or an aspiring new farmer, this is a unique opportunity to express your opinion and share your experience working in the agricultural sector. You are invited to answer a survey as part of the study ‘Assessment of generational renewal strategies across EU Member States’. Your participation will help ensure that EU policies are better aligned with the needs and realities of young farmers. ✍️Participate here: https://kont.ly/18d396a0 📅You have time until 24 March One of the main objectives of this study is to identify the main challenges for young and new farmers entering or intending to enter agriculture. The study also aims to assess the effectiveness of the policy instruments available in the EU to support generational renewal. For many years, the European Commission has been implementing measures and provided funding to support generational renewal in agriculture and to facilitate young and new farmers’ access to farming and businesses in rural areas as part of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Ensuring the continuity of farming and attracting new generations into the sector is crucial for maintaining the vitality of rural areas and securing the stability of Europe’s food production. In addition to CAP-funded instruments, most Member States also implement national/regional policies tailored to address their specific challenges and needs. By answering the questionnaire, you will offer a very valuable contribution to the results of the study, which aim to provide elements for the Commission’s considerations on the future of the EU agricultural policy. EASY4DIGIT at the EU CAP Network seminar on #AI & robotics in agriculture! 📸 Last week, our partners Massimo Canalicchio and Matteo Ansanelli from Associazione Agricoltura è Vita took part in the EU CAP Network seminar on 🤖 Robotics and #ArtificialIntelligence in farming and forestry, held in Utrecht 🇳🇱 on 19-20 February. During the event, they presented EASY4DIGIT among other innovative projects 🇪🇺, contributing to the discussions on how AI and robotics are transforming agriculture. The seminar was a great opportunity to share best practices and connect 🤝 #researchers, #advisors and #farmers with a common vision to tackle the impact of #ClimateChange. Another real-life example of #digitalisation in agriculture — this time from Türkiye! 🇹🇷 Serhat Emre Yağlıkara, a third-generation farmer, is carrying on a 100-year-old farm in Ankara. Specialising in crops 🌱 such as wheat, barley, and sunflower, his farm integrates #DigitalTools such as satellite-guided planting, drone spraying, and precision irrigation to improve efficiency and sustainability. He is a firm believer in the power of #education and digitalisation to transform agriculture 🗣️ «People should be brought closer to agriculture through education, and farmers must understand the real impact of technology.
