E-Club Bicocca has been thriving since we founded the association and here we are with more news about the activities we proposed, projects we curated and everything important that happened lately. 💡 Collaboration on USC2025 We have officially got on board with the rest of the network and getting ready for the University Startup Challenge 2025. E-Club’s network plans this event yearly, partnering with corporations, institutions and other entities to support and foster innovation and new ventures on a specific theme. A great hackathon, spurting from a proposed challenge and inviting students from all universities to enrol and compete with other teams. A fantastic growing opportunity for everyone, which we are overjoyed to be on board with for its organisation. 🎤 Event with Nicola Mei at iBicocca We have carried out our first event in our collaboration with iBicocca for their Platinum 2024 course, a speech featuring Nicola Mei, a serial startupper, professional content creator on LinkedIn and founder of the italian startup community Hi!Founders, as our guest! Our collaboration with iBicocca continues, and we’ll invite more guests to Platinum 2024 in the near future. 💶 Securing Funds and planning ahead for next year We finally received the green light on funding we requested for our activities this year, and we will be overjoyed to be able to bring these activities and events to Bicocca in the following months. 👥 Growing the association We’ve already received more than 15 requests to enter the association and join our teams over the course of last month, and we continue to grow everyday. It’s great seeing how we’ve growing every day and we aim to greatness even for our first year! Don’t worry, there’s a tool that can help you: the Business Model Canvas. The BMC was developed by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur to be a strategic management and entrepreneurial tool. ✍🏻 How does the BMC work? Key Partnerships → Who are your partners/allies? Which partnerships can give you a competitive advantage? Key Activities → What are the essential operations you need to manage? Key Resources → What do you need to achieve your value proposition? (People, technologies, skills) Value Propositions → What is the thing that makes your offer unique? Why should they choose you over competitors? Customer Relationships → What type of relationship will you build with your customers? Channels → How will you reach your customers? What platforms and tools will you use? Customer Segments → Who are your ideal customers? What problems do they want to solve? Cost Structure → What are the main costs and how can you keep them under control? Revenue Streams → How will you monetize your offer? (Direct sales, subscriptions,...) 📊 Why is the BMC so useful? The BMC allows you to keep every aspect of your business idea on a single page, helping you visualize the business model in a cleaner and more immediate way. Acquiring and improving soft skills is achievable through online learning platforms like Learnn Domestika and Coursera which offer practical courses on communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Even free courses from universities such as Harvard, Berkeley, MIT available on edX provide a unique chance to learn from industry experts. Finally, internships, both national and international, allow for the application of these skills in real-world contexts, enhancing teamwork, time management, and adaptability. On December 5th, we met Nicola Mei, a serial entrepreneur, startup expert, and LinkedIn content creator. During his speech, we covered how to effectively use LinkedIn for networking, the creation of the Hi!Founders community, and insights into the startup world. Nicola shared how LinkedIn helped him support his project Tocket and later evolve into a daily tool for networking, inspiring the HiFounders! community. His advice: create a strong LinkedIn profile with a captivating bio, interact with others, comment on posts, and tell engaging stories. He stressed the importance of posting regularly and building connections for future opportunities. HiFounders! started after Tocket's struggles, with Nicola seeing the need for a network dedicated to startups. It grew from online calls during COVID to in-person events, where founders shared experiences and common challenges. Today, HiFounders! also collaborates with companies seeking startup consultancy, offering visibility and networking opportunities. We also discussed the startup landscape in Italy, highlighting hubs like Milan and Turin, and emerging areas such as Bari and Sicily. Regional and national funding for innovative startups is growing, which could help address Italy's startup market challenges. Finally, we analysed key industries such as carbon footprint reduction, electric vehicle charging, Web3, and energy transition. As you may already know, E-Club Bicocca is a student association at the University of Milano-Bicocca dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among students. Our mission is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth through events, projects, and networking activities. But just who is on E-Club Bicocca’s team? Well, firstly, our board which is currently comprised of our three founders: Andrea Stramondo – President and Head of E-Club Brand Economics and Business Administration Student, Freelance Consultant in Administration, Web Development and Digital Marketing, Attended iBicocca Titanium 2023, Participant in USC 2024 Andrea leads the club as President while also managing E-Club Bicocca’s brand identity and the technical aspects of the website. His vision and his network ensures a strong image, as an emerging club his focus is boosting our presence both within the university and in the broader entrepreneurial community. Andrea Sirtori – Treasurer and Head of E-Club People Economics of Banks, Insurances and Financial Intermediaries Student, Attended iBicocca Platinum 2023, Participant in USC 2024 As the People Division Manager, Andrea ensures that every team member feels valued and motivated while also overseeing all legal aspects of the association. He also handles the club’s finances as the treasurer. Pietro Maria Marcandalli – General Secretary and Head of E-Club Events Economics and Commerce Student, Previous experience as Project Manager, Attended iBicocca Titanium 2023 Pietro organizes exciting events that help students develop entrepreneurial skills and help to manage the club’s daily operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
