  • H&M includes "complete the look" CTAs with order confirmation emails -- great idea, but They just link back to the original product pages Imagine if they anchor linked direct to the recommendations section of each respective PDP Or if it included a URL parameter with the order number that would dynamically populate a personalized a landing page with recommendation pods related to items based on the last order E.g. complete the look could include a section for matching pants, jackets, accessories Home goods could display more from the series/product line, accessories, more decor in the same color story, etc Just thinkin' out loud Things you can build with search APIs ... #ecommerce #merchandising #emailmarketing #retail #fashion #CRM

  • Nude Project ran an Advent Calendar promotion this year with daily new product drops Dec 1-24 🙉 every purchase from the advent collection entered you into a draw for "clothing for life" In-store visitors could see a preview of upcoming drops while they remained a mystery online It's rare for #dtc merchants to run these promotions with new product launches, but I remember Sephora running "deluxe samples with purchase" events like this, and others like Vitasave run month-long "flash sale" events on specific brands and products Even a few SaaS vendors ran new feature drop events this month, like Microsoft Clarity and Amplitude (Hat tip to Josh Silverbauer for reporting these - give him a follow if you're into #webanalytics and/or Venn diagrams - you won't be sorry) Links to the SaaS campaigns in the comments👇 #ecommerce #shopify #merchandising

  • The best #ecommerce feature for 11th hour Christmas Eve shoppers? ✨ Filter PLP by local store inventory 🧘🏽♂️ this example from Lululemon (mobile view and store set up in the comments) 👇 Of course, this feature's great for #dtc brands with physical stores ANY time of year (I'm really trying not to say "omnichannel" I really, really am trying not to say that It's almost 2025 We can call it DtC-stores-with-physical-locations, and the such like But never 'omnichannel') 😅 Happy Holidays to you if you read this far And godspeed if you're braving the mall today #shopify #UX #merchandising

  • Coach and Rothy's using "peekaboo" image layers in banner designs 👀 will this trend in 2025? 🔥 should we call this "flat 3D"? Coach's collection cards highlight the featured product from the lifestyle image with a blowout effect Rothy's overlays its Gift Shop banner with a transparent product carousel that really ties the context together -- these products are the gifts the banner mentions #ecommerce #shopify #UX #dtc #merchandising

  • Allbirds sneaks animated tiles into its Clearance mobile menu to highlight featured styles on sale 🐦 I want to call this as 'serchandizing' (sale merchandizing) but that term's already taken 😅 So... clearandizing? 🤷♀️ Or how about 'navandizing' - the art of adding banners and featured products to otherwise bland text link lists The red-green scheme is a nice holiday touch 🎄 #shopify #ecommerce #merchandising #UX #dtc

    • Allbirds mobile menu with animated tiles
  • RAINS reinvents the collection filter experience with an animated PLP widget that launches a product quiz 🌧️ sometimes fashion purchase are 'spec driven' -- technical specifications matter more than the aesthetic But spec filters can be confusing to customers when they lack context, especially when they're proprietary to the brand, like this case with RAINS' T1-T4 and W1-W3 product scales A few quick questions help clarify these values while returning the most suitable set of SKUs Notice the "Read more" buttons within the flow for those that really wanna geek out on the tech specs #shopify #ecommerce #UX #merchandising #dtc #fashion

  • For the "late comers" that missed your holiday shipping deadline, offering the ability to send an instant gift notification by email that something's on the way can save Christmas 🎅🏾 🙌 Choose a card, add a greeting message, send by email or text link (for SMS or social messenger) There are 2 apps I'm aware of to get this 'e-gifting' feature without custom dev: 1) Giftnote available in the #Shopify app store 2) Zest .co for non-Shopify integrations The difference between these and other 'gift note' apps is they're sent by email, not printed with the packing slip This example from Naadam lets you configure your card & message from the PDP Giftnote even lets you schedule when the message triggers (immediately or at a time/date you choose) - see example from The Oodie in the comments 👇 #ecommerce #UX
