Today, The Wall Street Journal highlights one of many issues we've long sought to address. A medication should not have hundreds or thousands of wildly varied prices. "We don't make money on drug spend, and I do not set prices. I use what CMS gives us as the starting point," A. J. Loiacono said. A publicly available price index like #NADAC allows buyers and sellers to "communicate" on price, which is critical in any efficient market. If an administrator is aligned and agnostic, there's no need for things like MAC lists, etc., that add unnecessary complexity and create confusion for pharmacies and plan members.
