  • "Building higher levels of engagement in reading is priority work. Engagement has declined but the value and importance of reading has not." In this new article, Lorraine Radice, author of Leading a Culture of Reading, describes how a schoolwide effort to "brand reading" through a social media campaign (which can be public or on private platforms) can promote literacy both within and outside the school walls. Four steps for a successful campaign include: 👁️ Develop a vision for your campaign 🎨 Design an image to represent the reading brand 🚀 Launch the campaign 📢 Generate content and spread the word Reading for pleasure has sunk to an all-time low. With branded campaigns, school leaders can be "influencers" who build a reading culture that involves all students. Want to read more? Find the link in the comments ⬇️

Career Connected Learning Update! We owe it to students and families to ditch the outmoded narrative of “college versus career.” By the time our kids graduate high school, we must ensure they are ready to succeed in both college and career—in whichever combination or sequence is appropriate for them—according to their unique interests and chosen pathway. Committing to career-connected learning for all secondary students is an important step toward that goal. Current trends in education and the workforce make the case for enhanced CTE programs for every learner in every district. I enjoyed sharing my insights with District Administration, including how multiple pathways to college and career were beneficial in my own family. https://lnkd.in/gubFsmsz Edmentum America Succeeds American Student Assistance
