We're thrilled to spotlight our teacher, Princess from Zimbabwe, who brought an incredible cultural experience to her forensic science class! Through her unique "culture corner," Princess shared her heritage by setting up a vibrant display of dried foods, a cherished tradition in her country, with her students. Princess's presentation explored the art of food drying, a crucial preservation method in many African communities. She discussed the cultural significance of gathering to share hearty meals and folklore, and explained why some foods are traditionally prepared for specific family members. The interactive session sparked curiosity among her students, who got to feel the textures and smell the scents of these special dried foods. One student even shared a similar tradition from Mexican culture, sparking a heartfelt cultural exchange in the classroom. This presentation was more than just a lesson—it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Zimbabwean culture.
