  • Dr. Fran Witt, Administrator of Effingham Care and Rehabilitation Center and President and CEO of Effingham Health System, was announced today as a 2025 inductee into the Hall of Honor in the annual McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program. The program recognizes nineteen outstanding top women leaders in the skilled nursing, senior living, and home care sectors. "It is an honor and a privilege to receive national recognition on top of our current CMS Five Star Rating. This represents the quality of care we provide to the seniors in Effingham County," shares Dr. Witt. She will be celebrated along with other award winners on May 13th in Chicago at the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards ceremony and forum. The program is a joint effort of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and sister media brands McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care.  The Hall of Honor category honors women whose roles are at a level equivalent to vice president or higher and who have had a significant effect on their organization or industry. “From clinical care to operations, development to marketing, and other domains, the women we are announcing today are overseeing areas critical to the success of long-term care, be it in their individual organizations or for the industry as a whole — and sometimes both,” McKnight’s Vice President and Associate Publisher John O’Connor said. “We are as delighted to honor them as their organizations are to have their expertise.”
