Our Walsh team has officially completed work at the vibrant Four Amigos Beloved Community in the heart of Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood. This six-story, U-shaped building will significantly benefit the south Seattle community by providing 87 affordable family-size homes, affordable bilingual childcare services provided by El Centro de la Raza, and a new 2,600 square-foot home for the Church of Hope. The building’s design embodies El Centro de la Raza's vision to address the needs of the families they support, featuring a central outdoor play area, efficient space utilization, and elements representing the Afro-Latinx community through vibrant colors, hand-painted tile murals, and sculptures. A huge shoutout to our great team of Sandi Tovias, Joe Geise, BJ Graham, Jesus Montiel, Anthony Sherman, and Wendy Kato for delivering this project safely and to the highest level of quality! • Join us at El Centro de la Raza for our Annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, November 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Plaza Roberto Maestas, 1660 S. Roberto Maestas Festival St, Seattle, WA 98144. Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember the lives of those who have passed. This year’s theme is: “Voting for Resilience: Honoring Voices Lost, Empowering Voices Present / Voto por la resiliencia: honrando voces perdidas y empoderando voces del presente.” We will pay tribute to the organizers targeted and killed for their civil rights work, victims of vigilantes attempting to halt movements, and individuals whose sacrifices brought new awareness to struggles.

  • A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for El Centro de la Raza’s 2024 Building the Beloved Community Gala on September 28th! We are deeply grateful to our donors, event sponsors, table sponsors, team captains, volunteers, speakers, and all the hands that made this event a success. Your support helps bring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of a “Beloved Community” to life—a community built on relationships of care, respect, and justice for all. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $638,000 to fund critical programs that serve over 20,000 individuals and families in our region. These funds will help us feed those in need, provide housing assistance, support students, and stand with our immigrant community. If you missed the gala but would still like to contribute, please consider donating here:
