SAD is more than the occasional winter blues. It’s a type of depression that follows a seasonal pattern, most commonly occurring during the shorter, darker days of fall and winter. Just like adults, kids and teens can experience mild to severe cases of SAD. In fact, data suggests that up to 5.5% of 9- to 19-year-olds may deal with it. We aim to support kids in their next chapter, which is often adulthood! Through our Supervised Apartment Living program, kids learn to live independently in an apartment while still having help from our staff. To do that, they need house supplies that they’ll also take with them when they transition out of Ellipsis’ services. Give them a boost, and you’re likely to see one in return. We’re honored to receive a $100,000 grant from the Polk County Iowa Board of Supervisors to support the Noble Campus, a key part of our mission to serve youth and families in our community.
