Kevin Landtroop from SBIR clarified key points during the dual-use panel on working with the government: • Find a transitional partner. • Be prepared for a lengthy cycle with plenty of back and forth. • Unlike VCs, the government doesn’t fund ideas—build the product first, then secure funding. On the VC panel, Joshua B Siegel confirmed what I always say about SaaS P&L: 1. Break it down by month vs year. 2. VCs know your forecast has nothing to do with real life—they just want to see you have a clear understanding of what is going on and the strategy. 3. Burn matters—don’t overspend. Join the nearly 1,000 eMerge startup alumni that have participated in the eMerge Global Startup Accelerator + Showcase program and have gone on to raise a collective $2.6+ billion in funding! Each year, the Startup Accelerator + Showcase program features 100 diverse and innovative companies invited to experience enriching programming, culminating in a pitch competition at the eMerge Americas conference. From matriculation into the Accelerator + Showcase program and continuing on as alumni, eMerge connects each cohort with mentors, investors and corporate enterprises.
