  • Economic justice is a pressing issue for Muslim Americans, who face unemployment rates twice the national average and significant wage disparities, particularly among women. These inequities underscore the urgent need for policies that address systemic barriers to economic opportunity. At Emgage, we are committed to advocating for equitable wages, affordable housing, and access to quality jobs for all communities, especially as we approach a pivotal election. Economic justice is not just about financial stability—it’s about dignity, fairness, and the right to thrive. Muslim communities, like many marginalized groups, have been disproportionately impacted by wage gaps, higher unemployment, and housing discrimination. For instance, 37% of Muslim households in the U.S. live below the federal poverty line, a stark indicator of the challenges we face. As we look to the future, we must push for leadership that prioritizes comprehensive economic reforms. Our communities deserve policies that uplift everyone and create pathways to sustainable economic growth. This election is critical in shaping those policies, and we encourage all of you to engage, vote, and advocate for justice and equity for all. Let’s work together to create a fairer, more inclusive economy.

  • As part of our commitment to civic engagement and building political power for Muslim Americans, Emgage Action has decided to endorse Kamala Harris for President. This endorsement reflects our dedication to protecting our communities from the threat of harmful policies that could resurface under a Trump presidency. We encourage everyone to understand the weight of this decision—it's not an agreement on every issue; it's about strategic necessity and the defense of our community's future from Donald Trump’s Agenda. For more on why this endorsement is crucial at this juncture, view our official statement at emgageaction.org

  • Gov. Tim Walz is a progressive leader who has shown he will fight to protect families, women, children, workers, and more. By fighting back against Islamophobia and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, he also isn't afraid to stand up for what is right. This decision shows the voices of Muslims and other marginalized communities were heard and listened to👏🏽 We commend Kamala Harris and her team for selecting a running mate that represents the people. https://lnkd.in/gtg2UXMv

  • 📢 Muslim voters played a pivotal role in Biden’s 2020 victory, but a recent report from Emgage and Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) shows a notable shift. Before exiting the 2024 race, his support among Muslim Americans was already on the decline (only 18% of Mulsims across key swing states who voted for him in 2020 still planned to vote for him in 2024)sl, influenced by his handling of the Gaza conflict and the rising threats of Islamophobia. Muslim voices have gained significant national attention, positioning us as key players in driving electoral outcomes ahead of the presidential election. With many voters still undecided, there’s a golden opportunity for candidates to win over Muslim votes by addressing our policy interests with genuine commitment. The findings of this report underscore the political impact of Muslim voters and highlight the critical need for presidential candidates to prioritize our voices and issues. It’s time to ensure our opinions are no longer overlooked. Read more about the findings of this insightful report and understand the stakes: ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/grVDFZac
