Tuesday was an exciting day at Holy Family University as EmpathED launched the EmpathED platform campus wide! All HFU Professors will have access to EmpathED to learn more about their students with Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments and Mental Health Diagnoses. Holy Family School of Education will be utilizing the EmpathED platform to train pre-service teachers, graduate students, and online students. Had a great time meeting members of the HFU team and talking about how EmpathED can be used in the School of Counseling Psychology, School Counseling, Nursing & Office of Accessibility Services. It was a busy summer for EmpathED, but a definite highlight was Co-hosting the 1st ever North West Arkansas Education Conference (NWA Ed-Con) with Gravette High School School District and Pea Ridge School District. It was inspiring to partner with Rebecca Walker and Dr. Angelina Bassett to create this unique experience - bringing a TWO day conference for the teachers to the teachers in the NWA region! EmpathED brought in our team to present, host panels, and have attendees experience the EmpathED Virtual Reality Lab and Platform. The EmpathED Team was honored to present the following: Students with Disabilities Panel - Holden Hilal, Eli Walker, Kasey Hodges & Francesca Cademartori Dr. Brie Moore sharing her compassionate expertise about an Empathetic classroom Francesca Cademartori sharing her journey navigating Dyslexia Amy Laff & Michelle Reynolds presenting about both Co-Teaching and Realizing the Power of Applied Educational Neuroscience Ed Pietrzak Pietzrak sharing how he creates a joyful classroom and wowing the crowd with his Magic Dream Team Panel -how to support your student with a Disability -a discussion with Amy Laff, Dr. Brie Moore, Francesca Cademartori & Kirsten Bronkovic VR Lab conducted by Matteo Cademartori, Micah Walker & Eli Walker In addition to the EmpathED team, NWA Ed-Con hosted experienced and passionate Arkansas presenters. They all brought their talents presenting on topics such as: Strategic Instruction & Vocabulary Linking, AI, Gifted Education, Equatio Mathspace, uPar and Read&Write from TextHelp, 504s, DeCoste Writing Protocol, Foundations of Literacy & Decoding Strategies, Behavior Support Strategies & English Language Learners.
