I attended the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) webinar "Top 3 HVAC Career Accelerators for Success" by MAP Consulting yesterday. This was exclusively for ACCA members and just another good reason to join! I enjoyed this and it did bring up many points about communication, Time management and Delegation. Most of this we have probably heard along the way to growing our businesses but I did find it useful to be very well laid out and it did help me bring focus to issues I don't often think about. Sometimes we get in the rhythm of the day and don't really think about how that process may be costing you time and money. The webinar used this pretty cool app Poll Everywhere to get input from the participants. Learning about that alone was worth my time to attend. I really appreciate the fact that shortly after the webinar, they sent a copy of the slide deck and a link for an action plan to help implement your key takeaways. I typically don't expect much from a less than one hour webinar. In this case I have to admit it exceeded expectations.

CAAG 2024 Annual Conference and Expo on the Riverwalk in Savannah Georgia
Co-Owner of Empire Heating & Air Conditioning, an Atlanta-area full service HVAC company founded in 1985.
Right after the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) convention in Orlando Mason, Gila, and I attended the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia (CAAG) (Conditioned Air Association of Georgia) annual meeting in Savannah. CAAG and Executive Director Tucker Green had a great group of vendors representing their products including ACCA corporate sponsors Daikin. The training sessions were timely and well attended. I picked up new insight on digital marketing, potential corporate tax savings, hiring and retention as well as many more. The keynote speaker was motivating and enthusiastic. Driving home the "get to" over the "have to" mindset. As always the networking is one of the best parts of any gathering of professionals. Catching up with friends from around the state and gaining insight from industry leaders is always one of my favorite parts of the CAAG annual meeting.

I was introduced to Ben Lieberman with the Competitive Enterprise Institute by Barton James the CEO of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) some years ago. I've had the privilege of talking with him on several topics. Most recently we talked about the cost increases that may result from the change in refrigerants and the subsequent installation requirements that come with these new A2L mildly flammable refrigerants. Below is the article that came from that discussion.

So proud of our President Martin Hoover, who was selected to be a part of this discussion on the upcoming changes in the HVAC world as we are required to transition to new refrigerant types!
