En Vérité Knowledge Hub is back again and we're diving into the Importance of Founder Vesting Schedules into this week, so be sure to follow us and read on👇 What are Founder Vesting Schedules, and why do they matter? Founder vesting schedules aren’t just a technical detail—they’re a safeguard for both investors and the company itself. A vesting schedule ensures that founders earn their equity over time, aligning their commitment with the company’s long-term success. Without one, a founder could leave early and still retain a significant equity stake, leaving the remaining team to do the heavy lifting without adequate compensation. 👀 For investors, this creates risk: a company hampered by misaligned incentives is less likely to succeed. When evaluating a startup, always ask: ➡️ What does the vesting schedule look like? It’s a key indicator of how the founders view their roles and their responsibility to the business. 👍

SAFE notes are often marketed as “simple.” But as an investor, that simplicity can mask underlying risks. Due diligence—thoroughly researching a company—is critical before signing any agreement. SAFE notes might not have the complexity of traditional equity agreements, but that doesn’t mean you should skip the homework. Key questions to ask: 👉 Does the startup have a clear roadmap for growth? 👉 Who else has invested, and under what terms? 👉 Are the founders transparent about their business? How to safeguard yourself: 🔒 Review their financials and projections: Are they realistic? 🔒 Ask about other funding: How much of their runway is left, and what’s their burn rate? Understand your place in the cap table: SAFE notes don’t offer immediate equity, so know where you’ll stand when the company raises future rounds. SAFE notes are only as safe as the foundation they’re built on. Your due diligence ensures you’re betting on a strong one. 😎 #Startups #InvestmentStrategy #AIInnovation #FinancialClarity
