We advocated for the establishment of a new asset class: “Load Co-Located with Dispatchable Generation” (LCDG), and this recommendation, among others, aims to provide large loads, such as #datacenters, with greater flexibility and optionality in their grid interconnections. By studying and treating co-located load and dispatchable generation as an integrated system, the LCDG asset class would enable grid operators to manage demand effectively, dispatch power, or export excess power as needed. Enchanted Rock’s comments highlight the potential of this framework to accelerate interconnection timelines while enhancing grid reliability and resilience, providing a flexible solution that aligns with the evolving needs of high-demand users. The article highlights Houston’s dedication to building more resilient neighborhoods and how city leaders saw H-E-B's forward-thinking approach to resilience as a shining example of prioritizing community well-being. This project isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about ensuring safety, comfort, and #sustainability for residents during extreme weather and power outages. We’re proud to have already partnered with the city to bring resiliency to their Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP), and we’re excited to extend this collaborative success to initiatives like the Kashmere Gardens resilience hub. It’s efforts like this that prove when cities, businesses, and innovative energy solutions come together, the result is a stronger, safer, and more connected community. At Enchanted Rock, we believe the path to a sustainable future is paved with collaboration. That’s why our VP of Policy, Joel Yu, joined an expert panel at BCSE’s Annual Membership Meeting to discuss how #AI can reshape the #energytransition. The takeaway was clear: the #decarbonization challenge isn’t a solo act—it’s a collective mission. In our guest blog for Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), we share a vision where #utilities, #datacenter operators, and distributed energy resources (#DER) unite to drive meaningful change. This approach isn’t just about reducing emissions; it’s about unleashing innovation and building resilient, adaptable energy solutions to power data centers and other critical industries 24/7. This insightful article from PYMNTS examines NVIDIA's recent warning that the lagging US grid infrastructure is jeopardizing the country’s competitive edge in #AI growth. The article looks deeper into the dynamics behind Nvidia’s stance and the risk that slow grid modernization could push AI investment overseas. But a solution exists. Allan Schurr, PE explains that sufficient baseload power is there for #datacenters, and flexible energy strategies like natural gas #microgrids are critical for peak demand periods. Give it a read and learn how innovative approaches are needed to ensure the US remains a leader as the global AI race heats up. https://bit.ly/49abtW4 #datacenterflexibility #cleanenergy #powergeneration #generators

Big news from the City of Houston! The City of Houston Mayor's Office just announced that the Kashmere Multi-Service Center will receive a permanently installed Enchanted Rock #generator to ensure critical services for the community during extended power outages. As part of Houston’s #resilience hub initiative, this is the first of several locations that will serve the city’s most vulnerable communities. Residents of Kashmere Gardens have endured repeated power outages during extreme weather events like May’s Derecho and #HurricaneBeryl. These outages left the neighborhood in the dark, and the resilience hub was unable to fulfill its mission as a cooling and warming center where residents had access to Wi-Fi, food, and water. While this project brings much-needed reliability to the center, the system also has the potential to provide excess power back to the grid during times of stress. The project not only serves as a model for resilience and equity, but it also paves the way for similar upgrades at other multi-service centers and critical infrastructure across Houston. We commend Mayor John Whitmire, the Houston City Council, and community advocates for their tireless work in bringing #powergeneration resources to Kashmere Gardens. We are honored to be part of the solution that will keep the lights on for our neighbors, and we’re excited to work together on a model for resilience that can be replicated citywide. #energyresilience #houstonstrong #communitypowered #cleanenergy
