This!! This is what community truly looks like in celebrating who you are. At 24 years old, I, and 2 other engineers, designed the high rise in the background in DTLA. In all these years, no one has celebrated my achievement in this amazingly powerful way- with pride, joy and appreciation- and continued to tell the world. It speaks to the success of visionary Ana L. Flores in building the #weallgrow community to always lean in to celebrate each others wins. This moment brought me full circle, networking and learning at the Amigas in Business event while my high rise graced the background. October hits big for me every year, but this one has two major events ready to unfold! 💫 Wait for it! October 1 alone holds so many celebrations in my life. 🎂 My birth month, and honestly I go well into November. 💍 My anniversary celebrating our spectacular and intimate wedding in Spain 🇵🇪 El Mes de Morado celebrating El Señor de Los Milagros - trust me when I tell you that my mama would pin this scapula on me whenever she was scared for me - if you know, you know. 💜 And this October, I have 2 major events that might end up happening on the same day! 👶 The birth of our second grandson/nieto! 🏢 Speaker on the LEGO Hispanic Heritage Month panel! Thrilled to announce my participation in a prestigious speaker panel for LEGO's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! I'll be sharing my journey alongside the esteemed Claudia Romo Edelman and Brenda L. Sanchez-Pineda at the LEGO Group New York headquarters. This panel unites Latina professionals to explore our cultural and professional paths, showcasing the power of diverse perspectives. As a global leader in fostering creativity and imagination, LEGO recognizes the vital role of representation in shaping young minds. By amplifying Latina voices, LEGO reinforces its commitment to inspiring all children to dream big and build their futures, brick by brick. They may even become structural engineers, like me! I'm truly grateful for the invitation to contribute to this important conversation and look forward to an engaging and impactful discussion that will help pave the way for the next generation of innovators, leaders and engineers.
