  • Did you know? Engineered Vision provides complimentary feasibility studies? This can include, but is not limited to, servo press studies, vision inspections, custom robotic pick-and-place/singulation, 3D printed or custom machined tooling, etc. Why do we do this? For a few reasons. It shows our customers we are serious about solving their toughest problems. It validates that we CAN do what we say we're going to do. And, we believe by going above and beyond, we will benefit our current customers and earn the trust of new customers. What's YOUR toughest manufacturing challenge? Can we take a look at it?

Have you ever wanted or needed something, and decided to go the cheap route? I have... A few years ago, I really wanted a pair of brown leather work boots. The weathered looking kind; rustic, burnt orangish-brown. Redwing had THE pair I wanted (the iron rangers, of course), but they were really expensive! So, all the algorithms on Facebook started bombarding me with boot ads (since I was looking for them). There was one...great looking ad, great looking boots...at a price that was perfect. Only 50 bucks! So I did it. I pulled the trigger. I ordered them online and waited. I'd been looking for awhile, so I was excited! I tracked the package over the next few days/weeks, however long they took to arrive. The package came. Bubble-wrapped soft envelope (first red flag...well, price SHOULD have been the first red flag). I opened the envelope and the boots looked absolutely nothing like the ad. They were NOT leather. I laughed. I took a chance and lost. I put the boots on and they literally ripped at the seams the first time I put them on. The lesson here is, either buy something the first time right, or buy it twice. I learned the hard way. I finally did get the Redwing boots I always wanted, but had to pay MORE in the long run, because I tried to save a few bucks up front. When you are considering selecting a custom machine builder for your next automation project, do yourself a favor and do it right the first time. Select a company that is NOT necessarily the cheapest, but who provides the best solutions, the best staff, the best support. Lifetime cost of a machine WILL BE LESS, when designed and built right the first time. And though I am certainly biased, Engineered Vision has all of this and more. I've worked with most of these guys since I got my start in automation 20+ years ago. I'm not just saying this, they are the absolute best in their field. Are you willing to take the chance on low cost, overseas options? Is it really worth it in the long run, if you end up having to buy twice?
