♻️#GHGReporting is Challenging📋 🌎During the recent episode of Navigating Carbon, Envana Software Solutions' Bryan Ross describes the challenges international companies face in reporting their Carbon footprint 👣across several jurisdictions' reporting factors, and voluntary frameworks. Some of the systems used today are very manual and error-prone. ❓KEY QUESTIONS: Is your system flexible and adaptable through time and for different geographies and frameworks? ▶️Are all your emissions sources mapped? ▶️Is your reported emissions data right? ▶️Are you partnered with a stable GHG solution provider that will be around in the long run? https://hubs.ly/Q030N3Pf0 #Envana #NavigatingCarbon #EPAReporting #SustainabilityReporting #GHG #OGMP #MethaneReporting #MVR

NEW EU METHANE REGULATIONS🌍 New European Union methane regulations dictate the following: ✔️A 30% methane reduction is mandated by 2030 vs. 2020. ✔️Quarterly LDAR is required: Depending on the type of site, detection above 500ppm requires a repair within 15 days. ✔️Continuous monitoring is required at high-risk facilities, leveraging satellite verification for methane "super-emitter" events. ✔️Retrofits and infrastructure upgrades to high-emission components are required with stricter monitoring and reporting requirements starting in 2025. Knowing this, the time is now to take the steps to be prepared. PERMIAN CUT METHANE BY 26% IN 2023 Permian Basin oil and gas operators reduced methane emissions by 26% in 2023, according to a new analysis by S&P Global Commodity Insights. S&P Global credits improved equipment and technology to help reduce methane emissions in the Permian Basin. The analysis showed that methane emissions fell by 34 Bcf to 96 Bcf, even as total oil and gas production increased. On a rate basis, the emissions amounted to 0.63% of barrels of oil equivalent produced in the region, down from 0.92% barrels of oil equivalent in 2022, equivalent to 18.5 million tons of CO2 emissions avoided. “Leaks that previously might have persisted for weeks or months can now be addressed in a matter of days,” -Kevin Birn, head of the S&P Global Commodity Insights Envana Software Solutions congratulates all those involved with the effort and the findings. Our team looks forward to helping more operators reduce emissions in 2025. https://hubs.ly/Q030DjYB0 #Envana #MethaneMitigation #Permian #OilandGas #GHG #Sustainability Aiming For Zero Methane Emissions Initiative • Insight M

#METHANE 💨 and DATA QUALITY Methane is a critical topic for oil and gas companies. Hear Navigating Carbon podcast host Deb Ryan and Envana Software Solutions' Bryan Ross discuss some of the challenges accounting for GHG throughout the value chain down to LNG. In the past, methane emissions were calculated based on generalized emission factors and publicly available methodologies to estimate their leaks and fugitive emissions. But what the industry has realized is that directly measuring, finding leaks, and quantifying is a more appropriate way to calculate methane emissions, aligned with the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership. 🔢 For companies working toward OGMP 2.0 Levels 4️⃣ and 5️⃣, the challenges with methane emissions involve identifying the most material assets to measure directly, the required frequency, what to do with the data, uncertainty, and more. 📻Listen to the podcast to gain valuable insights on how to implement an LDAR (leak detection and repair) program, the value of a centralized platform to operationalize the data to allow you to visualize 📊and learn from the data, and make informed calculations, contextualizing what the leak rates mean in the overall methane footprint. 🎙️Available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple 🎙️ https://hubs.ly/Q030zTgG0 #Envana #NavigatingCarbon #GHG #OilandGas #EmissionFactors #EuropeanMethane International Methane Emissions Observatory - IMEO Methane Guiding Principles • Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

🎙️NAVIGATING #CARBON Listen to Envana Software Solutions' Bryan Ross on @Deb Ryan's Navigating Carbon latest podcast as they delve into why it makes sense to get granular with auditable carbon management, accounting for Scope 1-3 emissions. From corporate disclosures to managing methane emissions, hear about the evolving landscape of emissions reporting and the future trends in carbon management, emphasizing the need for robust data management systems and collaboration across the supply chain. In this age when markets demand transparency and value differentiated gas, it no longer makes sense to use spreadsheets with disparate data. 📊 Find out how best-in-class operators are putting their data to work for their bottom line. 👏Thank you, Deb and Bryan, for these valuable insights! #Envana #CarbonAccounting #GHG #MethaneMitigation https://hubs.ly/Q02_-6-m0

EPA: METHANE EMISSIONS DOWN 44% IN TOP OIL & GAS BASINS 🌬️ According to recent US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data, methane emissions from the largest oil- and natural gas-producing basins fell 44% between 2011 and 2013. The EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program reports methane emissions dropped in seven oil- and natural gas-producing basins by up to 87% from 2019-2023. The drop occurred as U.S. domestic producers, led by Texas, broke records over the past few years, producing “more crude oil than any country, ever,” according to the US Energy Information Agency. 🤠 💡If Texas were its own country, it would be the world’s third-largest producer of natural gas and fourth-largest oil producer. In the first half of 2022, the U.S. became the world’s largest liquid natural gas exporter, led by Texas, according to EIA data. Find out how you can wrangle your methane emissions with the Envana Software Solutions suite. We're leading emissions management for oil and gas with purpose-built solutions fit for your needs. 🚀 NOW LIVE: Action to #CutMethane is critical for climate progress. Our latest report highlights that the tools are ready, the targets are set – now it’s time to deliver. Human-caused methane emissions are responsible for roughly 1/3 of the planet’s current warming. Reducing these #emissions is the fastest, most cost-effective way to slow global warming in the near-term, avert climate damages and buy valuable time for full decarbonization. Rapid innovation, new technologies and global momentum have led to a methane #data revolution with the potential to drive methane mitigation at speed and scale. Released during #COP29, the International Methane Emissions Observatory’s latest “An Eye on #Methane Report: Invisible, but not unseen” takes stock of progress harnessing this data revolution that can #CutMethane and keep global climate goals within reach. https://lnkd.in/dUUkMfGv
