Excellent example of the robust design of our Orthos filters and the difference our monolithic underdrain makes. Compare that to header lateral underdrain systems constructed of either SS or plastic block that often have uplift events every 10 years and cost massive O&M rehab $$$. The difference is easy to see.
#resiliency #permanency #waterfiltration Nashville Metro Water Services Nashville Metro’s Omohundro WTP is a marvel of engineering and design. Its George Reyer Pump Station was built in 1888 with original equipment still in operation. Omohundro WTP, built in 1929, is listed in the US National Register of Historic Places. Its monolithic underdrains have been in operation for nearly 100 years! Other than Orthos nozzles replacing the brass ones in 1999, little else has needed to be be done to the historic filters. https://lnkd.in/gvD3CVcm
