What have we learned in the first 6 months of accelerated settlement in The U.S., Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Argentina? The latest data finding from our rich Post-Trade data is a key behavioral change for market participants, issuing recalls earlier in the settlement cycle but ever later in the US day. Since the late May introduction of T+1, recalls issuance timing has shifted. Early in the transition, we saw a clear pattern of issuance in the morning of T+1, later progressing to recalls issuance spread throughout the afternoon, evening and even late night of T0 indicating that market participants are under pressure to issue and adapt to recalls much faster and on a real-time basis. This marks a fundamental shift in behavior and procedure where increased automation has been key to success. Don’t forget to register for our T+1 webinar on December 11 for a lively discussion from a panel of industry experts on the learnings from T+1: https://lnkd.in/e3RwcGuy #securitieslending #fintech #equilend #securitiesfinance #T1 #acceleratedsettlement

It’s been 6 months since accelerated settlement became the norm for The U.S., Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Argentina. We’re sharing key stats from our rich Post-Trade data to mark this halfway point where on-platform recalls relationships have been observed at double pre-T+1 levels on R2S. This increase is indicative of the additional number of market participants now experiencing the benefits of automation workflows in achieving accelerated settlement. Late 2027 is expected to be the next milestone for T+1, with Europe and the UK confirmed to make the transition to accelerated settlement. #securitieslending #fintech #equilend #securitiesfinance #T1 #acceleratedsettlement

This week marks 6 months since T+1 go live in North America and other regions. Since late May, we’ve seen incredible, positive change originating from T+1 which we’re highlighting this week in celebration of the first 6 months of accelerated settlement. We have seen continued growth in recalls volumes on R2S, our Risk Resolution Suite, comprising Recalls, Returns and Settlement Monitor. Recalls volumes have reached 3x pre-T+1 volumes since late May, demonstrating the power of automation. With confirmation that Europe and the UK plan to move to T+1 by 2027 and a European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) recommendation of 11 October 2027 as the optimal date for the transition to T+1 in the EU, this change is something all market participants must prepare for. #securitieslending #fintech #equilend #securitiesfinance #T1 #acceleratedsettlement

On November 14, 2024, FINRA published a proposed rule change to the FINRA Rule 6500 Series, which outlines updated requirements for 10c-1a reporting. The proposed changes reflect a number of concerns raised by the industry regarding FINRA’s original proposal. Following a short comment period, the SEC must determine whether to formally approve the rule change. At EquiLend, we are closely analyzing the proposed rule change to assess its impact on our regulatory reporting solution and what this means for the industry. Our team is committed to ensuring EquiLend’s 10c-1a regulatory reporting engine aligns with the latest regulatory expectations. We understand that regulatory updates like this can raise questions and opportunities to explore new solutions. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the implications of the proposed rule change and explore how EquiLend can support your compliance needs. If you have any questions or would like to speak to our team regarding this development, please reach out to your EquiLend Client Relationship Manager or contact us at regtech@equilend.com. https://lnkd.in/e9UDYDtu #finra #slate #sec #10c1a #reporting #regtech #securitieslending #fintech #equilend #securitiesfinance

In this article taken from Issue 16 of The Purple, our analysts reported on a varied Q3 performance in both equities and fixed income across the securities lending market. While some markets saw upticks in lending revenue, others experienced challenges with fluctuating demand and shifting fee structures. Highlights include: - North America: Cooling conditions for U.S equities where a revenue drop was driven by lower fees v 3% growth for Canada in the same period. - EMEA: EMEA equities fell by 5% year-over-year driven by lower fees but the country-by-country picture tells a more nuanced story with the UK and France making significant gains while, Germany and Sweden saw losses of similar magnitude. -APAC: Returns for APAC equities declined 6% year-over-year with some positives as increased interest from short side investors strengthened Taiwanese and Japanese revenues.
