We were proud to showcase our ESG Tool at the event, where attendees explored its role in advancing sustainability goals. 🌱 Latvian SMEs explore pathways to corporate sustainability 🌍 On December 5th, the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (Viedās administrācijas un reģionālās attīstības ministrija) brought together key players and innovators at the Support Forum for SMEs: Corporate Sustainability Requirements and Experience Stories. The event offered a deep dive into the journey toward sustainability reporting, tailored to empower small and medium-sized enterprises. 🌍 COP29: SMEs at the Heart of Global Sustainability Efforts 🌱 At COP29 in 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan, one key message emerged: small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are critical to achieving global climate goals. While large corporations often dominate the sustainability conversation, SMEs make up over half the global economy. Their participation isn’t optional—it’s essential. Solutions like ESG Tool are transforming this challenge into an opportunity. By simplifying sustainability reporting and guiding SMEs in creating effective strategies, tools like this empower businesses to meet new environmental standards without being overwhelmed. But it’s not just about tools; it’s about support and accessibility. Standards and frameworks must uplift SMEs and developing nations, not burden them with insurmountable barriers. 🌍 Driving sustainability and resilience in the Baltic Sea region 🌊 The EUSBSR Annual Forum 2024 brought together over 870 participants from 24 countries, fostering regional collaboration on sustainability, resilience, and digital transformation. 🚀 Key sessions included a workshop on Sustainable and Resilient Business Development, led by Kristi Aruküla and Joanna Annion from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, and a panel moderated by Kristi Aruküla on Digital and Smart Solutions for Supporting Sustainable Business Environments. At the panel, Finnish expert Lisbet Frey (DIMECC Oy) introduced the ESG Tool, that supports SMEs in understanding and navigating sustainability reporting requirements. By offering best practices, simplified corporate sustainability standards, and self-assessment tools, the ESG Tool helps businesses integrate sustainability into their operations.. 🌱📊 The discussions highlighted how digitalization fosters efficiency, enhances collaboration, and supports sustainable development across sectors. 🌐 With public sector leadership and transnational cooperation, the Baltic Sea Region is setting an example for building a connected and resilient future. 🌍 INFOBALT at Vilnius GreenTech Forum 2024: Driving Green Transformation 🌱 On November 7th, INFOBALT participated in the GREENTECH VILNIUS 2024, a major event uniting Lithuanian and international business, political, and scientific leaders. The forum focused on pressing sustainability challenges in sectors like energy, transport, showcasing efforts to drive the green transformation in Lithuania and across the EU. At the event, INFOBALT introduced the ESG Tool at its stand, giving participants a chance to explore this innovative initiative. ESG Tool consortium partner ITL Estonia Sustainability Working Group gathered in Tallinn to discuss the crucial steps companies need to take to successfully implement ESG practices. The session was both informative and forward-thinking. Mihkel Tamm, ESG Lead at Swedbank Estonia, shared valuable insights into what companies should be prepared for when receiving their first ESG-related inquiries from financial institutions. He highlighted the importance of early preparation to avoid challenges down the line. Following that, Merili Vares, Head of ESG at PwC Estonia, gave a detailed overview of building a robust ESG management system. She shared her experience how companies can define their areas of impact, considering their business partners, employees, and environmental responsibilities. A big thank you to Trinidad Wiseman for providing an excellent venue for the meeting, creating a productive and comfortable environment for all participants. 🌍 Sustainability in Business: Beyond Buzzwords to Strategic Value 🚀 In today’s world, sustainability is evolving from a mere buzzword to a key component of corporate strategy. No longer just a moral choice, it’s a measurable and valuable activity that benefits both businesses and the planet. With the EU's new sustainability reporting standards, transparency and accountability are more achievable, giving companies like TeleSoftas, a Lithuania-based IT service provider, the opportunity to integrate sustainability into their core operations. TeleSoftas CEO Šarūnas Putrius believes that mandatory regulation will encourage responsible practices and drive measurable impacts.
