The start of separate collection of textile waste at European level is set for 1 January 2025. A goal in the green transition that Italy, followed by other countries, had already crossed, standing out as the leader at the dawn of 2022. The objective of the new structure desired by Europe is to bring the sector - in fourth place in the ranking of the most polluting (preceded only by food, housing and transport) - closer to a model of ever greater circularity. Circularity that necessarily passes through a more responsible, ethical and therefore virtuous management of textile waste, the Achilles heel now known of the entire supply chain. And this is precisely the inspiring thought behind AXO, a project developed by Cappellini in collaboration with Elena Salmistraro and Cooperativa Alice, promoter of ‘Ethically made in Italy’, the first WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) guaranteed made-in-Italy chain, together with ‘Il Laboratorio’ based in Quartoggiaro and ‘Fiori All'Occhiello’ in Baranzate. AXO is short for Assolotto, a particular species of salamander with a kind of magical power: the extraordinary ability to regenerate, heal and rebuild. It is not only a design product, but also an object that wants to send a message of awareness, environmental sustainability and solidarity. Cappellini has decided to commit itself in this direction because it firmly believes in the social role of business, understood as a reality deeply rooted in the territory and close to social contexts. #ETHICAREI #Education

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was established on the assumption that violence against women is a violation of human rights. This violation is a consequence of discrimination against women, which exacerbates gender inequalities. The date of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women also marks the beginning of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence” preceding World Human Rights Day celebrated on December 10 each year, precisely to emphasize that violence against women is a violation of human rights. #ETHICAREI 

Today, at the Sala Capitolare in Piazza della Minerva, the last appointment of the cycle ‘𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞’, promoted by the Severino Foundation, was held, dedicated to the theme: ‘𝐒𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚, 𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐞 𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐞 (𝐂𝐒𝐑𝐃, 𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐃): 𝐬𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚̀’. The event explored the role of social sustainability in prisons, emphasising inclusion and social responsibility, to imagine a future in which the prison system actively contributes to collective well-being.
