🗨️ “We found that the basic legal acts on digital payments do not stipulate clear criteria for assessing whether price interventions are justified, or how long they should apply. There are also no requirements for periodic reviews. And for some of the interventions linked to card payments, the European Commission could not demonstrate that the positive effects for consumers clearly outweigh the negative ones”. - Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz, Member of the European Court of Auditors #DigitalPayments #EUauditors 🔗 Read the full report 👇 https://lnkd.in/emZFPR8d

🗨️ “While the European Commission has improved its management to detect and correct #infringements of #EUlaw, it can still take years to rectify infringements. Breaches of law must be remedied quicker to ensure equality and observance of EU common values and principles. Even though people and businesses have responsibilities stemming from #EUlegislation, they should be allowed to enjoy the benefits of commonly agreed rules without impediment, thus ensuring that their fundamental rights apply everywhere in the EU”. - Lefteris Christoforou, Member of European Court of Auditors 🔗 Read the full report 👇 https://lnkd.in/eVEQsdS6

Key findings: 📌 Tools and procedures for enforcing EU law are gradually improving. 📌 Over 9000 infringements cases opened between 2012 and 2023. 📌 Only few cases end up with financial penalties, but these do not always appear to be a deterrent. 🔗 Read the full report 👇 https://lnkd.in/eVEQsdS6

🗨️ “The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund should play an important role in supporting the integration of migrants in the EU. However, in the absence of legal requirements, member states do not consistently monitor the actions to help migrants overcome barriers on the way to integration. As a result, the Fund’s contribution to migrant integration is difficult to assess”. - Viorel Ștefan, Member of the European Court of Auditors 🔗 Read the full report 👇 https://lnkd.in/drBnn3aW
