Welcome to the new SCAR Forest LinkedIn page! This Working Group of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) provides advice on European forest-based #research and #innovation. As well as contributing to the development of a coherent and ambitious forest-based research area, it also provides a critical co-creation platform for the future “European Partnership on Forests and Forestry for a Sustainable Future”. Yesterday we held our second European-level stakeholder workshop! Our thanks go to all those stakeholders who took the time to give their views, opinions and ideas for our work on the strategic R&I agenda for forestry and the forest-based sector (SRIA), along with accompanying implementation measures and stakeholder commitments. We hope to post more about the workshop very soon.

Two days ahead about EUFORE in Brussels. Today we update our project status internally. Tomorrow we work together with stakeholders. We are now in the midpoint of the project and I must say that interesting results are starting to come out. I am participating in formulating future trends and scenarios for European forests and potential wood supply by year 2040.

Our 2024 EUFORE consortium meeting is going so well! In the morning we got an update from our project officer Salvatore Martire, as well as from our coordinator Alex Giurca and Ana Cecilia Rivera Cabrera, on how we have met our goals and what is expected over the next reporting period. Our work packages have also reported back on their activities and the rest of the day is spent on working on the various joint tasks. Tomorrow our stakeholders will join us and give their perspectives on the roadmap for forthcoming strategic R&I agenda for forestry and the forest-based sector (SRIA).
