Did you know that heating and cooling technology for buildings creates around 15% of global carbon emissions, according to the World Economic Forum? In celebration of #EnergyAwarenessMonth, we are highlighting the large-scale impact district energy systems have on the decarbonization efforts of our cities, communities, and campuses. Ever-Green is operating and implementing solutions like geothermal, aquifer thermal energy storage, combined heat and power, heat recovery, and more to achieve reliable, resilient, and sustainable district energy systems today and well into the future. Tune in this morning for an informational meeting hosted by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission on large scale data center development in Minnesota. The Commission has assembled a broad and diverse stakeholder group to talk about some important topics related to data center development. At Ever-Green, we will continue to advocate for data center stakeholders to think about opportunities to recycle heat from data centers to heat buildings, a form of building electrification that ensures the electricity powering a data center is used to its fullest extent.
On Tuesday, October 29, the Commission is holding an informational meeting to learn more about large scale #datacenter development in Minnesota (also called hyperscale). The Commission will focus on topics within its jurisdiction, such as infrastructure planning, tariffed rates, compliance with state #carbonfree, and #renewable requirements. The Commission will hear from several organizations including Meta, Google, labor unions, environmental and energy advocacy groups, the Attorney General’s Office and multiple utilities. Meeting begins at 9 a.m. To learn more about the topics, speakers and how to view the livestream, visit our website. https://lnkd.in/gYbqw_px
