𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 In business as in life, the ability to compromise generally is regarded as a positive thing, and it is! But not when it involves compromising our integrity. That’s invariably a recipe for disaster, if not immediately, then eventually. #integrity #consciousleadership #decisionmaking #values #moralprinciples #wiseleadership #awareness

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁 There are situations in our businesses where people we like, people we care about, people who have worked hard for the company, are no longer the right fit. How do you handle things when you’ve assessed that the gap between a team member’s skillset and their functions is just too big to keep them on, even though they’re a great person and dedicated employee? #compassionateleadership #toughdecisions #consciousleadership #empatheticceo #navigatingchange #heartfeltleadership #balancingbusinessneeds #clarityinaction

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 Great outcomes can be born out of compromise, but not when what's compromised is our integrity. If we deviate from “true north” on our moral compass, it invariably comes back to bite us in places best left unbitten! #integrity #consciousleadership #decisionmaking #values #moralprinciples #wiseleadership #awareness

𝗕𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 “𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲” Beware the need for “more”, as in more recognition, status, money, etc. It can become a hamster wheel that drives us to compromise our integrity. #integrity #consciousleadership #decisionmaking #values #moralprinciples #wiseleadership #awareness

𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Sometimes the decisions we face can be very uncomfortable, especially those that impact a person’s life or livelihood. No doubt, personal feelings can cloud our judgement. Moreover, our desire to avoid emotional discomfort can drive us to freeze or to make unwise decisions. While some people will advocate that CEOs should not include their personal feelings in decisions, in my experience the exact opposite is true. We must: ~~~ Be aware of the feelings brought up by the situation (this is important “data”) ~~~ Address our feelings in a healthy way ~~~ Assess the situation from a place of clarity ~~~ Choose the wisest path forward ~~~ Act with compassion #compassionateleadership #toughdecisions #consciousleadership #empatheticceo #navigatingchange #heartfeltleadership #balancingbusinessneeds #clarityinaction

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 When we compromise our integrity, seeds of disharmony germinate inside of us and this necessarily negatively impacts our leadership. And the more those seeds grow, the greater the risk that we'll continue to move further out of integrity. Even veering slightly out of integrity can result in impaired relationships and a damaged reputation. #integrity #consciousleadership #decisionmaking #values #moralprinciples #wiseleadership #awareness

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 CEOs have to make tough calls. It’s part of the job. In this blog, I’m sharing how one leader struggled with, then handled the delicate decision to let a long-time executive-level employee go — balancing compassion with the needs of the business. Personal feelings often block action in these type of situations. In what ways have you found yourself stuck in these scenarios, not wanting to deal with the fallout. And how have you successfully found your way through? Let’s take a look at how we can better navigate sensitive decisions that impact people’s lives. #Compassion #DecisionMaking #FiringanEmployee #ConsciousLeadership #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #HumanResources
