About us

The ExMODE (Exploration and Modellization of Ore Deposits) Group at the CSIC is oriented to the development of ore system models and the exploration of raw materials with special attention to critical ones. We are involved in research on volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits, magnetite-(apatite) and IOCG systems and Sn-W-Li mineralization with the support of several Horizon Europe and AEI (Spanish Agencia Española de Investigación) projects in collaboration with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Memorial University of Newfoundland and Lulea Technological University. Our current topics of interest also include the role of microbes in the formation of ore deposits, unconventional stable isotopes, and the geocronology of ore forming systems.
