Helping leaders learn by doing, through experience.

About us

Humans learn best by doing. That’s why we’re called Experience Institute. Since 2012, Experience Institute has been at the forefront of designing transformational workplace learning programs that help individuals and teams unlock their full potential. Our mission is to reignite motivation and foster continuous growth at work. We achieve this through our signature experiential learning approach, Leaps, which empowers learners to develop critical skills, step out of their comfort zones, and make meaningful contributions. Our programs start with interactive workshops, available both in-person and virtually, where employees build essential skills and adopt growth-oriented mindsets. Next, they take on a self-directed project – called a Leap – to apply their learning directly to real-world challenges in their work environment. Each program concludes with a reflection phase to solidify lessons, celebrate breakthroughs, and ensure lasting impact. If you’re looking for engaging corporate training programs that deliver real results, you’ve come to the right place.

  • 🚀 What’s one thing you’d improve about your workplace culture? On January 15th, my colleague Amelia Rosenman and I at Experience Institute are hosting a highly interactive, free session: "Leaps to Level Up Your Culture." It’s a hands-on experience where we’ll help you: ✅ Pinpoint a high-leverage action to improve your team or company culture. ✅ Equip you with a plan and the motivation to make it happen. Perfect for anyone in People Ops or anyone who wants to inspire meaningful change with their team or organization. Please join us! https://lnkd.in/g9NN3qRk P.S. If you were at Culture Summit in October, you saw Sara Loncka and I facilitate a similar workshop. If you enjoyed that one, join us to tackle another Leap (we'd love to see some familiar faces!) or send your teammates who you think might benefit.

  • 🎨 Are you putting prototypes into practice? Do you have an "Open Arms Stance" when asking for feedback? This week, Amelia Rosenman shared her childhood gumball machine costume disaster—a lesson in innovation that’s shaped how we work at Ei today. Her big takeaway? Test your ideas early, so you can improve them before it’s too late. Thanks to Amelia, we’ve embraced the power of prototypes with our biweekly Prototype Test Space. It’s where our team brings “version 1” workshops or activities to test, refine, and strengthen them through feedback. The secret sauce? Welcoming that feedback with open arms. 💡 Want to build a testing practice for your team? Here’s how to get started: ✔️ Set a regular cadence (e.g., biweekly). ✔️ Create a sign-up system. ✔️ Model the process by testing your own idea first. ✔️ Make it interactive—let others experience your prototype. ✔️ Welcome feedback with an improvement mindset. Innovation thrives when we let go of perfection and embrace the process. Ready to create this space with your team? DM us or comment below—we’d love to help you get started! Happy Wednesday! #PrototypesInPractice #InnovationInAction #TestEarly #FeedbackCulture #DesignThinking #LeadershipDevelopment

  • We're loving following along with Erin Murphy's takeaways from the CLO Exchange. What hard skills you've seen perish these last few years?

    Designing and Delivering Transformative Experiences

The average lifespan of a hard skill is just two years. That’s why meta-skills like creativity, adaptability, and critical thinking are taking center stage. At the CLO Exchange, countless Chief Learning Officers emphasized this point: learning how to learn is the foundation for everything else. Hearing this was music to my ears. 🥁 When sharing takeaways with my team, I’d say our Leaps programs are nailing the "learning how to learn" thing—so we’re on the right track. ✅ Looking ahead to 2025, I plan to double down by asking our partners even more explicitly about the meta-skills and company values we can build into our programs to better support their goals. For example, if we’re teaching pitching and presenting, a business focused on prioritizing creativity and authenticity might need a different approach than one with care and collaboration as core values and goals. Tailoring our programs to foster skills, meta-skills, and values in this way is a win-win—for the learners and their organizations. Now that I write this, it seems kind of like a duh moment, but felt like an aha to me. What say you?

CEO @ Experience Institute | helping companies develop lifelong learners

Learning teams—like our own at Experience Institute—spend their careers helping others reskill, upskill, build confidence, embrace new mindsets, and plan their next steps. It's incredible work. But sometimes, we’re a little like the cobbler’s kids. It can be tough to prioritize learning for ourselves when we're so focused on creating growth opportunities for others. This week, Erin Murphy and I attended the CLO Exchange with the intent to meet learning leaders and explore potential partnerships. Never having attended before, what I didn’t fully anticipate was just how much depth and insight I’d gain about the challenges and priorities shaping the future of learning. Opinions and experiences varied, but a few key themes stood out: 📊 Measuring and proving ROI in learning and development – the how, the why, the to what end 🤖 AI’s role in learning – Especially in coaching as a way to embed and reinforce new practices 🧠 Importance of metacognitive skills – a cornerstone for navigating a rapidly evolving workplace; these have durability! ⚖️ Balancing proactivity and reactivity – addressing immediate learning needs while staying ahead of future demands Leaving Miami just in time to see the sun rise over the Atlantic, I couldn’t help but reflect on how moments like these—the quiet, transitional ones—are where clarity begins. The insights from this week are already sparking ideas, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll guide Ei’s work in the months ahead.

  • 🎉 It’s that time again – holiday parties, everywhere! From team gatherings to family get-togethers, it’s the season of celebration. But let’s be real: a truly memorable party doesn’t just happen. Without intention (and a bold purpose), end-of-year celebrations can feel, well… a bit routine. 💤 In this week’s Wednesday Words, Sara Loncka dives into how to make any gathering meaningful. Inspired by her “favorite things” themed birthday parties, and insights from our go-to expert Priya Parker, Sara shares three prompts to help you elevate your gatherings – personal or professional. 📅 And for anyone looking to shake things up for your team this holiday season, we’re hosting a free workshop on November 22 at noon CT. We’ll guide you through a process to design an intentional, fresh take on your team’s EOY celebration. So if you’re a learning leader, HR professional, manager, or just someone who loves a good celebration, consider this your invite to craft something memorable. 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/e-gpY2_y #NotYourAverageHolidayParty #TheArtofGathering #EOYCelebration #PriyaParker #MeaningfulMoments
