Excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the Omnivision event in a few weeks 🎉 It’s an all-too-common occurrence for companies to talk about being “data-driven” 🙄, when most of the time this leads to an excess of unused dashboards, sat collecting digital dust. I’ll be diving deeper into some practical strategies we’ve implemented at incident.io, that helps keep data top-of-mind across the wider organisation. Check out my blog post ⬇️ on this topic for a sneak-peek of what we’ll be getting into. Looking forward to connecting with fellow data enthusiasts, and comparing notes on how we all try to make data *stick* — after all, the best data strategy in the world means nothing if people don’t use it!

Coming soon: Dashboard performance analysis 👀 During our in-person hackathon, Nancy Chacko and Nathan Agrin put together a tool to help our customers diagnose dashboard performance. 🔎 At a glance, you can see which queries are hitting the cache, running quickly, or in need of a little speed boost. ⬆️ Watch Nathan Agrin demo some of the latest frontend touches 🖌️

We've made some really cool tools at Omni for building custom visualizations - it's really fun to play with and see how we can make it better for our customers. Check out my blog post on one of my recent experiments 🧪
We want to help our customers quickly create beautiful visualizations and dashboards, and also have the ability to customize *exactly* what they want. Recently, Sarah Waterson on our Design team set out to recreate a dashboard one of our customers shared for inspiration. Check out her post to learn how she did it — including a few insider design tips & tricks 💡 https://lnkd.in/gAGNH5Ne

Firmly believe we’ll see more tool convergence in the future. Every different type of use case and user is kicked into specialized tools because every new entrant is forced into a small wedge and stays there. The future will be better tooling for everyone that works for everyone - AI, spreadsheets, SQL, pivottables, notebooking - that means everyone can speak the same language underneath. Yes, it’s harder, but the outcome is faster, smarter from execs to the front lines.
BI has never stood still. Every decade, new tools solve old problems—only to introduce new challenges. We collaborated with industry leaders Colin Zima and Jonathan Griffiths of Omni and Erik Kuld of Inventive to see where BI is headed next: 📊 1990s: Legacy BI (SAP/SAP BusinessObjects, Cognos, MicroStrategy) was IT-controlled, rigid, and expensive. 📈 2000s: Self-service BI (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) democratized analytics but led to data chaos—conflicting reports and no single source of truth. ☁️ 2010s: Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) enabled governance & modeling (Looker, dbt), but created bottlenecks for business users. 🤖 2020s: BI is fragmented, but AI-driven convergence is emerging. Omni blends deep modeling with self-service analytics, while Inventive redefines AI-powered data exploration. The goal? Governance, flexibility, and automation—without the tradeoffs. Read the piece below to see where BI is headed next: #BI #DataAnalytics #AI #BusinessIntelligence #DataGovernance #MachineLearning
