Eu sempre gosto de destacar como é possível rodar simulações com milhões de células (voxels) utilizando o Dotmatics M-Star CFD. Claro que você vai precisar de um cluster de #GPUs para isso, e a Latticept já dispõe de um novo servidor construído em parceria com a Exxact Corporation. Atualmente, estou resolvendo um sistema de dispersão de partículas para um cliente. É um problema extremamente complexo, pois precisamos resolver um sistema de altíssima rotação e alta concentração de partículas #DEM, e, obviamente, estamos usando acoplamento CFD-DEM de DUAS VIAS. Seguindo as melhores práticas de simulação, estou realizando um estudo de sensibilidade de malha. Neste momento, estou simulando aproximadamente 615 MILHÕES DE CÉLULAS de fluido além de 170 milhões de partículas, consumindo mais de 170 GB de memória (são 4 GPUs RTX A6000 em paralelo). Eu já não estava mais acostumado a ter um tempo de simulação tão grande, mas apenas 100 horas para simular 5 segundos de agitação TRANSIENTE nessas condições é incrível! Sinceramente, você não faria isso nem em um ano de #HPC utilizando #ANotherSYStem (se você acha que é capaz, fica aqui o desafio). Você nem mesmo seria capaz de treinar uma #IA para fazer isso (risos). Synthetic benchmarks are the "most useless useful tool". It's actually pretty easy to craft benchmark problems that make software look awesome, but don't scale well on real problems. As often as possible you should test the ACTUAL HARDWARE you're going to purchase using the ACTUAL PROBLEM. Check out this bizarre result from my Flame D combustion simulations. I'm running this on multiple NVIDIA L40S over PCIe5.0. Going from 1->2 cores almost no speed up (1.27x technically). Going from 2->4 over double, 2.87x total speed up from just 1.
