In a recent article in The Ophthalmologist , Zujaja Taqeer, M.D., DPhil, an adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgeon at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and Cincinnati Children's Hospital, discusses the link between diabetes and retinal disease. Signs of diabetes are commonly detected during an eye exam, but other specialists are often required. Education 🤝 Fun. In conjunction with the EastWest Destinations Conference, EyeCare Partners was proud to host its second annual Optometry Residency Winter Summit in Key West, FL this past weekend with our residency programs from Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, Cincinnati Eye Institute, Columbus Ophthalmology Associates, LLC, John-Kenyon Eye Center, and Virginia Eye Consultants. No better setting to spend time together with OD residents, residency coordinators, ECP doctors, and past ECP OD residents. ☀️🌴 Five ECP doctors (Dawn Hartman, Erich Hinel, @Christopher D Riemann, MD, Walter Whitley, and Mary Beth Yackey) and all eleven OD residents contributed to the conference’s education through lectures, round table discussions, and case poster presentations. I’m in awe each and every time I am around our doctors. The ECP network of optometrists and ophthalmologists is unparalleled. 🙌🏻 I wish all eye care professionals were in attendance to hear Dr. Yackey and Dr. Riemann’s story on their two decades long working relationship as retina specialists at CEI and the importance and benefit of optometry and ophthalmology working together as a team. They embody ECP’s clinically integrated model and why it’s necessary for the better of patients. 👏🏻 Thank you, Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Cheri Andler, O.D. for your continued support of our collaborative optometry residency educational program and sharing new advancements in ocular health management with ECP’s group of doctor attendees. 👊🏻 And to ECP’s OD residents, you all amaze me! We could not be more proud of the way you represented yourself but also EyeCare Partners. Thank you! 🙏 There is so much work and planning that goes into the residency summits (shout out Kim Rudolphi for all you do), but oh so worth it to see ECP’s doctors and residents shine! 🌟 Check out the snapshots of the education and fun had! 📸 #optometry #optometryresident #ophthalmology #networking #education

This last week my company flew me to St. Louis for a conference to represent my office. It was such a great experience to meet so many fellow leaders in my position along with district managers, regional managers, and many others. It’s been such a blessing to be working with this company who invests in me, my leadership, and my potential. This is only the beginning for me with EyeCare Partners! EyeCare Partners

💖 This Valentine’s Day, let’s spread the love—starting with eye health! As eye care professionals, you help patients protect their vision every day. Here are a few reminders to share (and practice yourself!): 👁️ Fuel for Healthy Vision – Encourage a diet rich in omega-3s, vitamins C & E, and lutein (leafy greens, salmon, and nuts are eye-friendly superstars!). 💦 Hydration is Key – Remind patients (and yourself!) that staying hydrated helps prevent dry eyes. 🕶️ UV Protection Matters – Sunglasses aren't just a fashion statement—they safeguard against harmful UV rays. 💤 Screen Time Relief – Advocate for the 20-20-20 rule to ease digital eye strain. 📅 Routine Exams Save Sight – The best gift for eye health? Regular checkups and preventive care. Thank you for the work you do to help patients see their very best. #LoveYourEyes #EyeCareExperts #HappyValentinesDay #ElevateEyeCare
