One point that makes our #GatheredCloths project special is its modularity, providing endless opportunities to explore object impermanence. The latest Fafafoom Studio Newsletter issue describes more about the process of manifesting this modular applications as it goes from one iteration to the next. What was documented for any previous iteration of Gathered Cloths no longer exist, and there is no guarantee that the latest construction of Gathered Cloths will exist next month, next week, or even the next day. Early last week, we had the honor of being featured in NAAM Festival #JusticeforLakeVictoria's Kanda La Ziwa Sustainable Fashion & Creative Arts Residency. Mira Hapsari joined a dozen of residency participants to share her journey as a textile upcycling artist, her core motivation to upcycle "waste", and a timeline of her recent projects, especially the modular textile art project #GatheredCloths. The #naamtuvae residency involves young artists and makers who are eager to create impact in sustainable creativity. The program seeks to raise awareness and demonstrate creative climate / environmental solutions led by youths, artists, women, and fisher folks. Thank you for having us, NAAM Festival!
