The Talent and Culture team at Fairmont Century Plaza had the incredible opportunity to visit The People Concern and serve dinner to its residents last Friday. It was an evening filled with warmth as we served meals restaurant-style to create a special dining experience. We capped off the evening with freshly baked cookies from our hotel, spreading a little extra sweetness to those who needed it most. We are proud to support a meaningful organization that provides vital services to those experiencing homelessness and poverty in Los Angeles. Giving back is at the heart of what we do, and moments like these remind us of the power of community and compassion.

At our November Townhall, we came together to celebrate our incredible team and their outstanding contributions to turning every moment into special memories for our guests. Heartist of the Month – Front of House: Congratulations to Ashley Brumfield, our friendly and dedicated Front Desk Agent, for her warm, welcoming energy that leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets. Heartist of the Month – Heart of House: A big round of applause to Mark Sniffen, our hardworking General Maintenance Engineer, for his exceptional problem-solving skills and behind-the-scenes work that keeps our hotel running smoothly. These Heartists embody our core values and inspire us all to strive for excellence every day. Thank you, Ashley and Mark, for going above and beyond to make Fairmont Century Plaza a place where both our guests and colleagues feel valued and cared for!

Last week, the Fairmont Century Plaza team had the privilege of visiting The People Concern in Santa Monica, one of Los Angeles County's leading organizations addressing homelessness and domestic violence. The People Concern provides a fully integrated system of care, offering tailored services such as outreach, interim housing, mental and medical health care, substance abuse services, life skills programs, pet care support, wellness initiatives, and permanent supportive housing. During our visit, we toured their facilities, which currently house 55 individuals experiencing homelessness. It was inspiring to witness their transformative work and the direct impact it has on those in need. We were also proud to contribute to their Thanksgiving feast. Our talented Chef Nancy Guerrero prepared pumpkin and apple pies that served over 200 individuals. Additionally, turkeys for the feast were generously donated by our sister property, Fairmont Miramar - Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica. At Fairmont Century Plaza, we are committed to supporting our local community and look forward to further collaborations with social service organizations like The People Concern!

🎃 At our spooktacular Halloween-themed Town Hall for October, we celebrated our Heartists and took a closer look at the impactful work happening across departments to make our hotel and community greener🌎 Our Sustainability Committee Takeover highlighted initiatives from every department, showcasing how we are committed to a more sustainable future for our Los Angeles community and beyond. We are also thrilled to recognize our October Heartists of the Month: - Front of House: Ryan Holmes, the warm welcome our guests receive from the moment they arrive. - Heart of House: Maria Huezo, our caring In-Room Dining Order Taker who makes every guest experience exceptional. And of course, our Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest wrapped up with the Fairmont Spa team winning first place for their creative "Salt Room" pumpkin design! 🎃

This week, we had the pleasure of celebrating the graduation of our two exceptional Management Development Program graduates, Kaja Wauer and Richard Reeschke from Germany! Over the past 18 months, they have demonstrated remarkable dedication, skill, and growth, making a significant impact on our team at Fairmont Century Plaza. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and cannot wait to see where their journeys will take them next. Congratulations and thank you, Kaja and Richard!

As we wrap up the month of September, we are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of two of our beloved J-1 program participants, Tako and Alex! Tako, hailing from Georgia, and Alex, from Brazil, have been an incredible part of our team, bringing their unique cultures, talents, and perspectives to our Fairmont Century Plaza family. Their dedication and hard work have not only enriched their own journeys but have also left a lasting impact on our entire team. We are so proud of all they've achieved and can’t wait to see the amazing things they’ll accomplish in the future! Join us in congratulating them on their success and wishing them the best in their next adventures!

Last week marked a special milestone in our journey. Three years ago, we opened our doors with a vision to provide unmatched hospitality, comfort, and unforgettable experiences.
