Wow! Winning the vote of the members of the 21st Century Fund is such an incredible honor for Family Promise and such a catalyst for our project! As a small family homeless shelter, we have big hearts but we can't be effective alone. We need our community behind us to tackle a problem as big as family homelessness. And this award is a great example of our community coming together with us to address the crisis of family homelessness in our midst. Your vote for Family Promise is allowing us to take immediate action toward opening a second shelter and helping more than twice as many children and families who are experiencing homelessness. We are making this happen TOGETHER. Your confidence in our organization and our project is humbling and inspiring! I would be remiss to not congratulate all the fantastic nonprofits that were also finalists in this competition-- Heart, Love & Soul, The Tool Library, Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology. I know how hard it is to raise money for essential projects and your projects are all outstanding - I wish we could all be winners!
