Stay informed with our Export Control Regulations Updates newsletter, featuring the latest developments through November 30, 2024. We provide concise summaries of recent regulatory changes impacting global trade and compliance operations. President Biden has extended the national emergency with respect to Iran, originally declared in 1979, due to ongoing threats to U.S. national security and economic interests. This extension, effective through November 2025, keeps emergency measures in place. The national emergency concerning U.S. investments in Chinese companies linked to the PRC’s military and security sectors has also been renewed. This extension underscores continued concerns over China’s Military-Civil Fusion strategy and surveillance technologies. The national emergency regarding nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons has been extended for another year. This extension reflects ongoing efforts to counter the proliferation of these dangerous weapons. The U.S. has also extended the national emergency concerning Nicaragua in response to the ongoing political crisis and human rights violations under the Ortega-Murillo regime. This declaration highlights continuing threats to U.S. national security and foreign policy. These updates emphasize the U.S. government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard national security and address global threats. State continues the inclusion of the KF-21 in the ITAR USML list of enumerated aircraft at USML VIII(h)(1). BIS releases an updated version of DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! BIS extends the comment period for space related updates. BIS announces restrictions on the exports of certain nuclear non proliferation ECCN items to Pakistan to address diversion concerns. Our update also covers the latest sanctions, fines, penalties, and more.
