We urge Congress to consider the implications of budget reconciliation proposals for the nearly 50 million people, including 14 million children, who experience hunger in the U.S. While each person's experience is unique, people facing hunger have expressed common priorities: dignity and respect, access to healthy food to support a healthy life, and economic stability and mobility. Cuts to nutrition programs will also cause strain to the Feeding America network of over 200 food banks and 60,000 faith-based and charitable partners. While food banks are working hard to keep their shelves stocked for their neighbors, they cannot absorb the large increase in demand that the proposed cuts will create. 📰 Read our full statement: https://bit.ly/3D06tYc

Thanks to your donations and the generous match from Sheryl Sandberg and Tom Bernthal, we took steps in tackling hunger through the Food Rescue Challenge! Your support helps rescue nutritious, safe, surplus food and turn it into meals for millions of people facing hunger. These last weeks, we’ve raised enough money to provide over 700,000 meals! But the work doesn’t stop here, let’s keep up the momentum and continue rescuing food to nourish communities. Find out how you can continue to give at FeedingAmerica.org! 🧡🏈 #ScoreForFoodRescue

Yesterday our partners Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana took a meaningful step toward tackling hunger. In the Lower Ninth Ward—where access to fresh food has been a challenge for years—we stood alongside partners to bring real solutions. Thanks to support from the National Football League (NFL), Inspire Change, and local leaders like our own Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the Makin’ Groceries Mobile Market is expanding, delivering affordable, nutritious food directly to this community.
Today was a powerful step forward in our mission to end hunger. In the Lower Ninth Ward, where access to fresh food has been a challenge for years, we joined with partners to bring real solutions. With support from the NFL Foundation, Feeding America, and community leaders, the Makin’ Groceries Mobile Market is expanding to bring affordable, nutritious food directly to this neighborhood. Thank you to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Thomas Davis, State Representative Candace Newell, Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the team at the Andrew P. Sanchez & Copelin-Byrd Multi-Service Center, and everyone in the Lower Ninth Ward who made today possible. Ending hunger requires action and collaboration. The work does not stop today. We will keep building solutions that put food on tables and strengthen communities.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor the vital contributions Black communities have made to our food systems and the fight for equitable food access. Black leaders, volunteers, and neighbors have long been at the forefront of ensuring communities have the resources they need to thrive. Despite the challenges posed by systemic inequities, Black individuals and families continue to build solutions, foster food sovereignty, and advocate for a hunger-free future. Still, barriers remain: Black households are 2.2 times more likely to face food insecurity than white households, with cost of living, high food prices, low wages, and structural racism being key drivers. At Feeding America, we stand with Black communities and are committed to creating a world where everyone has access to the nutritious food they need to thrive. Let’s work together to honor this legacy and build a more equitable future. Learn more: bit.ly/4jwmxBx
