The One Fengate Award, introduced this year, is awarded to those at the firm who have made an extraordinary contribution, who have consistently gone above and beyond to contribute to the firm's success, and with a One Fengate mindset, a strategy that drives firm-wide collaboration and impact. Nominated and voted on by Fengate's Executive Leadership Team, the two top-voted employees were David Luder and Grant Richardson. A key member of the Private Equity team, David's work on our record-breaking acquisition of eStruxture Data Centers contributed to the firm’s objectives of growing capital under management by nurturing and growing the original asset into a coveted asset that attracted new investors to Fengate. David also embodies the Fengate value of giving back to the community. Every year since 2018, he champions Tanya’s Ride for Brain Injury in tribute to his mother and has raised over $170K for the Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST). Grant is a key member of the Infrastructure team involved in the eStruxture Data Centers acquisition, demonstrating collaboration and initiative across business lines and contributed to the Infrastructure team's goals of deploying and growing capital under management. Grant’s work with the Private Equity team also contributed to increased investment activity, refining investment focus and setting the foundation for future funds. Congratulations, David and Grant!

Fengate is pleased to announce financial close on the #acquisition of a significant stake in Freeport Power Limited (FPL), owner of a 440-megawatt #cogeneration facility in #Texas. Fengate’s acquisition of a majority stake in eStruxture Data Centers has been awarded Digital Infrastructure Acquisition of the Year at the IJInvestor Americas Awards 2024. The deal was the single biggest investment ever made in the Canadian #datacenter sector at the time of financial close, and IJGlobal judges recognized its measurable impact on the overall #infrastructure market in Canada. Fengate and Alpha Omega Power LLC have achieved financial close on Caballero Energy Storage, a 400MWh #batterystorage project in California that will provide #cleanenergy to the grid. With battery-stored energy accessible on-demand, the Caballero project will also enhance #gridresiliency by safeguarding it against the impacts of extreme weather events.
