We're thrilled to receive the Sustainability Award from World Textile Information Network (WTiN)! Fibre52's patented process reduces water and energy usage in the bleach, scour, and dye processes of cotton fabrics. Fibre52 President Laura Thornquist on the award, "Our team is honored with this award from WTiN. Introducing the Sustainabili-tee The sustainabili-tee is processed with Fibre52 and made with 75% organic cotton and 25% recycled cotton. Fibre52’s process further enables the recycling of cotton by strengthening the short fibers that result from the recycling process. A great first day in Munich at ISPO! Wonderful to meet with various brands and textile leaders looking into performance cotton. Fibre52 is displaying t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, polos and more made with our low temperature bleach and dye system. We're thankful Salim (Textile) khan from ECHOTEX LIMITED is on hand to explain how the items were made in collaboration with his team in Bangladesh. "Wax On, Wax Off." It's a famous scene in the classic 1984 movie "Karate Kid." Our Fibre52 team was thinking about that one day and realized with our patented system, it's about leaving cotton's natural wax on, not taking the wax off. This is one of the major differences between our low temperature process and traditional bleach and scour systems. By leaving cotton's natural waxes on and intact, the fabric comes out with natural performance benefits, including better strength, softness, and microclimate comfort.
