🛑 ✋🏼 It's Fieldbook Studio Sprint Week and I NEED YOUR RESPONSE - yes, you reading this. Would You Use #Crowdfunding to Bring a #Franchise or Brand to Your #Community? Please comment below. Background: We’ve been exploring the idea of using crowdfunding to help individuals bring popular emerging franchise brands to their communities. Traditional financing options like bank loans or personal savings can be barriers for some aspiring franchisees, especially with new location costs often exceeding $750k 🤑 . I’m curious to know: 1️⃣ Would you or someone you know consider using crowdfunding to raise money to bring a franchise or brand to your area? Why or why not? 2️⃣ What would make crowdfunding for this purpose appealing to you as a contributor/investor? For example: A stake in profits? Community recognition? Local economic impact? 3️⃣ Are there any specific brands or franchises you wish were in your area that you’d support via crowdfunding? 4️⃣ If you’re already a franchise investor or operator, would this model have helped you get started? Or would it complement your current approach? Lastly, if you’ve seen similar models succeed (like Franshares or Wefunder campaigns), I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with them. Looking forward to hearing your insights and ideas!

The Fieldbook Studio team went all in at NWA Tech Summit this year! We couldn’t be more proud of Josh Stanley putting the flag in the ground 🚩with Dean Emeritus Matt Waller on the message that Arkansas is the retail value chain capital of the world. Our own Courtney Ulrich Smith moderated an all⭐️star panel with Matt Lindsey and Ciby Oommen. She said she was “Delighted to have had the opportunity to speak with Ciby Oommen and Matt Lindsey about Sam’s Club use of computer vision and AI to revolutionize the club exit process. Their teams are doing truly remarkable work to create frictionless retail experiences for members and associates!” Finally, Kathryn Carlisle took the stage with a lovable crew of ESO community giants Canem Arkan, Darian Harris, Joshua Saffran (the ultra dedicated) and Zoe Buonaiuto, Ph.D. to talk innovation in NWA 🌄. Thanks to the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce and all the organizers and sponsors! We had a blast sharing our story this week and hope you found something fun, insightful, and stirring out of what we had to say. Email Kathryn@fieldbook.studio if you want to work together in the future.

We're incredibly excited to get to work with Justin Urso on Triive!

Founder | Small Business Owner | Educator | Product Manager

Nearly 3 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Josh Stanley. At the time, he was building Cartwheel Studio, a startup studio with promising early-stage companies. Over the years, we had countless conversations about life, startups, and especially about the unique opportunity Arkansas has to win in the retail value chain technology space. What’s truly special about Josh and his team is not just their drive for results, but their deep care for the work and the people involved. Fast forward, and when I heard about Fieldbook Studio, a new venture studio with a thesis around the retail value chain advantage led by Josh and his team -- which includes incredibly talented people like Kathryn Carlisle, Courtney Ulrich Smith, Mason McClelland, Matt Cassanova and the rest of the High Alpha Innovation team -- I couldn’t resist getting involved. One of the problems we zeroed in on was a pain point I’m very familiar with: how suppliers engage with their brokers and field reps, and vice versa. A space that hasn't evolved much in over a decade and was ripe for a solution, that’s when Triive was born. Triive will streamline and simplify connections between suppliers, brokers, and retailers through an industry first platform. Our mission is to boost sales in the consumer packaged goods industry by improving collaboration and efficiency throughout the entire supplier journey. Our platform will automate everyday tasks like Item Setup, Vendor Setup, and much more—freeing up time for brand reps to focus on what matters most. We’ve already made incredible progress, and I’m thrilled to be leading this charge as the Founder-in-Residence for the Triive concept in partnership with Fieldbook Studio. We’re still in the early stages, but we have great partners and I’m proud of the work our team has done. Stay tuned—this journey is just getting started! If you'd like to see us up close and personal, come check us out at Startup Crawl tomorrow in downtown Fayetteville and visit https://www.triive.co/ for more information.
