  • Congratulations to our outgoing interns! 👏   Last week, we said farewell to the Miami HQ’s first cohort of the FIFA26 Future Leaders Class in Miami!   The 24 young talents earned the chance to intern through FIFA's partnership with Miami Dade College and have spent the past few months working across various departments — from Safety & Security to Sustainability & Environment to Media & Broadcast — in preparation for FIFA World Cup 26™.   FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the students at FIFA's offices in Miami to celebrate their time on the programme.   He said: "I was pleased to learn about their positive experience and I am certain we can welcome some of them back for the new FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the inaugural 48-team FIFA World Cup in 2026. • What does it take to be a leader in sport? 🏆 At the CND 2024 Leadership in Sport Summit in Mexico City, FIFA World Cup 26™ Chief Tournament Officer (Mexico), Jürgen Maika, shared insights from his professional journey. Alongside Mikel Andoni Arriola Peñalosa, Executive President of La Liga MX, and Chief Learning Officer of ISBI 360, Bill Guerti, the group reflected on the essence of good leadership in sports and how those principles are shaping preparations for the transformative tournament in Mexico in 2026. Speaking at the event, Jürgen said: “To be a good leader, you must create a sense of empathy within the workspace. Only then can you create an environment within the sports and entertainment industry where people feel they can excel. “You need to entrust your coworkers and let them work, but also expect them to know what others in the room are doing and why it matters. That respect for your team comes from knowledge.” Looking ahead to FIFA World Cup 26™, Jürgen added: “On June 11th 2026, at the inaugural game in Mexico City, the world’s eyes will be on Estadio Azteca and our country’s unique traditions, people and culture. “We’re excited to show the world what we’re all about and we are building a fantastic team that will ensure we can make the most out of this historic moment for Mexico.”
