#SocialEnterpriseDay celebrates organizations that drive positive change for people and the planet. At FINCA, we believe the key to successfully delivering on a strong social mission is to set audacious goals. As we mark our 40th anniversary at FINCA, we’re aiming to reach 40 million people by 2028. We intend to do this through strong partnerships and continuous learning. As we set out to achieve our ambitious goal, we look to our partner Cisco Foundation for inspiration — they set (and already achieved) a hugely ambitious goal to positively impact 1 billion people by 2025. Inspired by Cisco's work and as follow up to a conversation earlier this year with FINCA Global CEO Andree Simon and Cisco Foundation Executive Director Charu Adesnik, in our latest article, Andree emphasizes the importance of setting bold goals and building partnerships through co-creation to achieve scalable, lasting #socialimpact. Milestone update—FINCA partner MDaaS Global has officially opened their first healthcare clinic outside of Nigeria in Douala, Cameroon! In Nigeria, MDaaS has seen consistent, rapid growth, serving over 375,000 patients across 16 diagnostic clinics. Through scalable, tech-enabled healthcare solutions, MDaaS continues to prove the transformative impact accessible and affordable health services can make on underserved communities. By expanding to Cameroon, MDaaS Global will be able to reach even more lives and provide the patient-centered care many seek. FINCA is thrilled to support MDaaS Global on this journey through our continued partnership, and help close the healthcare gap throughout Cameroon, Nigeria, and beyond.
Big news from the MDaaS Global team—our journey just crossed borders! 🌍 We’ve always had big, bold aspirations: unlock healthcare for Africa’s next billion. And now, with our first clinic outside of Nigeria in Douala, Cameroon, we’re getting a little closer to earning the “Global” in our name. 😉 Why Douala? It’s a vibrant city with a growing demand for reliable healthcare and a supportive environment for innovation. We’re excited to bring our years of experience from Nigeria to deliver patient-centered care backed by the technology and community-first approach that have been our hallmarks. This milestone is the start of something bigger—a chance to scale solutions that can transform healthcare access not just in Cameroon and Nigeria but across the continent. To everyone who’s been part of the MDaaS story so far—our patients, team, investors, and partners—thank you for believing in our vision. Here’s to bridging the healthcare gap for Africa’s next billion, one step at a time. #HealthcareForAll #Diagnostics #FrancophoneAfrica #TechForGood Press Release: https://lnkd.in/eTXbFWCA

This week FINCA Azerbaijan CEO Tim Tarrant attended COP29 Azerbaijan alongside the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA) executive team. The team gained valuable insight into current global initiatives and the future action needed to address the swelling #climatecrisis. These learnings will inform FINCA’s ongoing work to help customers in Azerbaijan and around the world protect their livelihoods and build resilience to climate shocks. #COP29

In recent years, monumental strides have been made to increase access to education in Ghana. Unfortunately, while access to education has increased, quality education still lags behind. In fact, out of the average 11.6 years of schooling in Ghana, the number of quality-adjusted learning years is just 5.7. This means that children are in school but are not learning for almost six years. This is why FINCA partners with social enterprises like Rising Academy Network. By providing exceptional curriculum materials and intensive teacher coaching, 265,000 Rising Academies students are receiving the quality education they need to excel. To learn more about how FINCA partner Rising Academies is setting a new standard for education in Ghana and across West Africa–continue below! https://bit.ly/4enL4ot
