I'm excited to announce that I’m diving into a new research project aimed at supporting coaches in Building Authentic, Thriving Coaching Practices. As part of this initiative, I’m looking to interview coaches who are: ✅ Currently in a coaching program or up to five years out of one ✅ Actively working on building their own coaching businesses If this sounds like someone you know, I'd love a referral or connection! The interview will be a 30-minute conversation focused on their journey and insights. As a thank-you, I’ll be happy to offer valuable feedback and suggestions for growing their practice—no strings attached. Why the Interviews? These discussions will help create a resource for the coaching community, exploring: 1. How long it typically takes for new coaches to establish their practices post-program 2. The real costs of setting up the business side of coaching (excluding ongoing training) 3. Key challenges like client acquisition, pricing, and other business fundamentals This is not a sales call—just a collaborative conversation to gain and share insights. If you know coaches who might be open to sharing their experiences, please connect us. Thanks so much for your help in shaping this project for the community! 🙏

On a compelling meeting right now about what Coaches promise. Promises made and promises broken. The session is on the Association of Coaching Supervision for the Americas. Sam Magill, an expert on coaching ethics, makes the case that coaches run into problems when a promise made (or implied) is somehow broken. This goes further than expectations. It's a big deal. What do you as a coach promise — implicitly or even directly — that might get you into trouble? @https://lnkd.in/gVJvyRtW

Hey Coaches! Ever wonder the ideal way to set up a QuickBooks account for your coaching business? Here's how ... 🚀 Setting up QuickBooks for your coaching business can make managing your finances a breeze! I've found it helpful to spend some extra time ensuring that categories and service items are kept up-to-date. It makes billing and tracking much easier. For instance, keep your categories, such as "Individual Monthly Coaching for 2-Sessions" separate from "Individual Monthly Coaching for 4-Sessions." Here’s a quick guide to get started: 1️⃣ Create Your Company Profile: Add your business info, choose an accounting method, and set your fiscal year. 2️⃣ Set Up Your Chart of Accounts: Organize income for different services (individual coaching, group sessions) and track expenses like marketing or admin costs. 3️⃣ Add Services as “Items”: Define each service with descriptions, pricing, and applicable taxes. 4️⃣ Manage Customer Accounts: Keep client details organized and even group them by packages. 5️⃣ Set Up Recurring Billing: Automatically invoice clients with recurring coaching packages. 6️⃣ Connect Your Bank Account: Import transactions and simplify bookkeeping. 7️⃣ Customize Invoices: Personalize them to reflect your unique coaching style. 8️⃣ Track Expenses: Keep tabs on all costs related to your business. 💡 Bonus Tips: Use “Class Tracking” for multiple coaching sessions within a package. Utilize time tracking for billable hours. Review reports like “Sales by Customer” and “Profit & Loss” to stay on top of business performance. This setup will help you stay organized, save time, and focus on what you do best – coaching! 💼✨ #CoachingBusiness #QuickBooksTips #FinanceSimplified #BusinessGrowth #CoachesWhoThrive #AutomateYourBusiness

Hey Coaches! How can you build an intentional coaching business? Here's some thoughts on a methodology ...
Hey Coaches. How can you build your practice systematically and intentionally? 💬 “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” — Henry David Thoreau Coaches, do you want to build your practice on solid foundations that drive results and growth? You may have heard of the Lean Startup approach—adapted from the Fortune 500 and powerhouse companies like Toyota. The essence of “Lean” is to streamline your business: think of it like trimming the fat, optimizing what’s most essential for agility and productivity. I take these Lean principles and adapt them for businesses like yours—those looking to grow steadily without trying to become the next Airbnb. This simplified method can be applied to any coaching practice, and I call it Bold Leaps in Systematic Success. It’s a four-part framework designed to help you grow with clarity and purpose. Here’s a sneak peek: 1️⃣ Bold: You started your business with a bold vision. Let’s reconnect with that core aspiration and keep it alive in everything you do. 2️⃣ Leaps: Every bold vision requires a leap of faith. Yes, it’s that moment when you think, "This is huge!" It's daunting—but that's where the magic happens. 3️⃣ Systematic: Instead of diving in recklessly, we break down your leap into manageable steps. These are small, digestible experiments where you test, learn, and adjust. Every experiment provides new insights to move you forward. 4️⃣ Success: Success isn’t just about achieving your goal—it’s about learning from every step. Whether the outcome is what you expected or not, it's a win if you learn. From there, we revisit your bold vision, refining it based on the lessons learned. 🎯 I’ve applied these methods across industries: law firms, beauty salons, start-ups, retail, life sciences, and even large corporations like Tesla and Capital One. If you’ve been skeptical about whether techniques from giants like Toyota or Silicon Valley can work for your coaching business, I can assure you—they can. Let’s apply these principles to your practice and get you to a place of thriving, happiness, and sustainable success. 🚀 Are you ready to make your bold coaching vision a reality?

How do you find your niche? Or 🚀 Breaking Free from "Niche Anxiety" 🚀 "Who is your target demographic?" "Have you figured out your niche yet?" I hear these questions all the time from new coaches —usually in agonizing tones. Here’s some good news: You don’t need a niche to build a viable and valuable coaching business. Wait, what? No niche? 🤯 Yep, you read that right. For years, I’ve been told (and I’m sure you have too) that a niche is essential to start your business. But guess what? Some of the most successful coaches, myself included, didn’t start with a perfect niche. In fact, I had a crazy diverse group of clients in the beginning. And yet, my business grew. The truth? Niche is great, but niche anxiety can paralyze you. You don’t need a perfectly crafted statement to get started. What you need is action. Take a guess at your niche, get out there, and start working with people. Your niche will find you as you work with more clients, not the other way around. ✨ Here are my 4 secrets to building your business BEFORE you have a niche: 1️⃣ Your niche is in front of you. Start by listing 10 real people you could help. Reach out and offer your services, no hard sell needed. 2️⃣ Your niche is a guess. Think of it as a hypothesis that evolves over time, not something set in stone. 3️⃣ Do the work. Edison didn’t invent the light bulb by sitting around thinking about it. He tried, experimented, and adapted. You need to do the same. 4️⃣ Your niche will find you. As you work with more clients, you’ll naturally narrow down who you love to help and who gets the most value from your services. Stop stressing over your niche. Dive in, experiment, iterate—and let your niche come to you! You’ll end up with a thriving business and change lives along the way. 💼✨ Let’s talk about how you can get started! Drop me a message if this resonates with you. 😊 #Coaching #Entrepreneurship #NicheAnxiety #BusinessGrowth #JustStart
