Aurelius Systems Secures Funding to Combat Drone Threats with Advanced Laser Technology.

Aurelius Systems, a pioneering directed energy company focused on developing edge-deployed laser systems for counter-unmanned aircraft systems (cUAS) applications, today announced the successful completion of its initial funding round. The round was led by prominent venture capital firms Outlander VC and Decisive Point, Founders, Inc., 640 Oxford, Detroit Venture Partners, and First In.
The Russia-Ukraine war has accelerated the rapid development of new warfare technologies, with low-cost FPV, autonomous, and swarming drones presenting unique defense challenges for the battlefields of the future.
Aurelius Systems is dedicated to addressing the emerging threats posed by small-scale, mass-manufacturable drones that have been increasingly utilized in modern warfare.
Led by photonics & aerospace engineering duo, co-founders Michael LaFramboise and John Marmaduke, the ongoing development of the company’s flagship product, the AI Laser Sentinel, represents a significant advancement in directed energy technology. This cutting-edge, man-portable system is designed to detect, track, and neutralize drone threats, providing a scalable and cost-effective solution for military and domestic defense applications. Aurelius Systems aims to equip the United States and its allies with the necessary tools to combat current and future conflicts effectively.
