🔄 Sharing First Mile Experiences Across Borders 🌍 On January 28th, we gathered close to 60 participants from the First Mile Project for a webinar moderated by Milena S. Nikolova, PhD, expert in behavioral science at BehaviorSMART. It was a fantastic opportunity for all participants to exchange with each other about the First Mile solutions they have been testing. 💬Five participants shared in detail their initiatives: 🚮 Poli Arctici – Reducing single-use plastic by offering a plastic-free lunch option during their tours. 💡 Kvitnes Gård – Cutting down on electricity consumption in their accommodation with smart thermostats, woolen blankets and socks. 🚰 Hostel Pr' Budkovic – Raising awareness about tap water quality, promoting green mobility, and encouraging energy-saving habits. 🚲 MooVert France – Advocating for green mobility and sustainable experiences through their reservation platform and with their partners.  🗺️ BnB Parco Alta Murgia – Saving water with ollas in the garden and promoting sustainable travel thanks to a pedestrian map of Bari. The discussion went beyond success stories—we explored challenges, learned from contrasting experiences across regions and strengthened the international First Mile community. 🌍 The First Mile Seminar in Bodø In October 2024, Norwegian First Mile SMEs finally moved beyond virtual screens to connect in person. As part of the Norsk Opplevelseskonferanse (29–30 October 24), our Norwegian project partner, Mimir as, hosted a half-day seminar dedicated to the First Mile project. The event brought together around 60 participants from the Norwegian travel and tourism sector, including 15 representatives from 10 participating SMEs. 🔹 Highlights included: Presentations on the First Mile methodology and project insights. Best case examples from Nord&Ne, Holmen Lofoten, and Tromsø Outdoor. Tactic Focus: Tempting travelers with local dishes 🍲🍽️ Once again, we're taking a closer look at one of the tactics within the First Mile Project: Making local food irresistible. A behavior-smart approach requires us to have an understanding of the behavior we want to address. This understanding will allow to implement the most effective tactics possible.
