When you practice wedge shots, make sure to give time to full-swing and half-swing shots. The full-swing wedge shot uses your full power across an entire swing motion, while the half-swing or three-quarter swing uses that power in a shorter swing motion, which can be more effective than simply trying to hit more lightly.
