We are so excited to announce that our First Peoples Leading suite of programs is microcredentialed and meets the Federal Government National Microcredentials Framework. Participants that successfully meet the robust attendance and assessment requirements of any of our programs, will recieve a digital badge that holds details of the learning outcomes and skills they achieved. Microcredentials are a powerful way to display the capabilites and achievements that employers are looking for. Keep an eye out for people with our digital badges, they have attained leadership skills, tools and capabilites that set them apart and enable them to be impactful First Nations leaders. WE LOVE FEEDBACK 😁! We've just wrapped up our final First Peoples Leading Impact program for 2024 and it was fantastic! We worked with talented, humble and thoughtful leaders from government, non-government & community sectors. We've had great feedback throughout the year for each of our programs and this is some of the latest. We're so pleased to see that the content, presenters and structure we have carefully developed is having such a great impact. Check out our 2025 program offerings on the website https://lnkd.in/gtgDuPTU or reach out directly to any of us! What does a great leader look like? Great leaders come in all colours, shapes and sizes, but they all have identifiable characteristics that make up their unique style - authenticity, purpose, self-awareness, compassion, innovation, adaptability, curiousity, vulnerability, strategic thinking, open-mindedness and the list goes on. Understanding our unique strengths and characteristics, and what to use when, allows us to grow and evolve as leaders and to challenge and support our teams and organisations to do more and be better. The First Peoples Leading 2024 #Changemakers have spent valuable time together discovering and analysing leadership concepts and tools, that have helped them to hone and own their unique leadership style. We have delved into purpose, dignity, trust, high performing teams, strengths and operating styles, change leadership, personal & public narratives, negotiation and agreement making, brand and career planning. There have been tears, laughter, debate, encouragement and connection throughout. These #Changemakers have critically evaluated their influence and impact, how they want to carry themselves and lead their organisations for greater outcomes for our mob and the wider community. We can't wait to see where they take their organisations - Thirriwirri, Executive Central, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), NSW Department of Communities and Justice, ABORIGINAL HEALTH AND MEDICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF NEW SOUTH WALES, Crown Land NSW, Department of Human Services SA, Legal Aid NSW, Sally-Anne Ross, Paul Garcia So, to answer the question about what a great leader looks like....we're pretty sure they look like this 👇🏾 👇🏾 👇🏾 .

David Major is a Yuin Maneroo man from south east NSW and is looking at the significance of the Uluru handback and Healthy Country for First Nations leaders. On the anniversary of the Uluṟu handback, I reflect on thirty years of working in the First Nations Healthy Country space. For all of that thirty years I have heard “committed to….” and “moving towards….” from Governments talking about the return of Country to Traditional Owners and the Co-mgt of conservation lands. Unfortunately, the rhetoric has rarely lined up with the reality - where land that has transferred has often had to be fought for in Native Title or Land Rights-like legal matters. Where co-mgt was supposed to transition to being First Nations led, they are still waiting (sometimes decades into the arrangement) It is time for some leadership and courageous conversations about the journey from willingness to readiness and a call out on broken promises and undelivered commitments. I was on a panel on First Nation’s Leadership at the Australian Private Land Conservation Conference in Sydney a few weeks ago and posed the question “if Governments and private conservation land owners handed all ‘conservation lands’ (including the resources they use to manage them) back to First Nations organisations to manage, do you think they would be in worse condition in 50 years?” the response from the room of more than 100 people (90% non-First Nations) clearly thought that it wouldn’t be. What do you think? Imagine if TO’s were designated as the land management service providers across NSW or Australia? I think Country would end up healthier, would cost less and be more wellbeing centred. Time for leadership and courageous actions - Healthy Country, Healthy Cultures, Healthy Communities. #firstnationsleading #firstnations #uluru #leadership Jason Ardler PSM Nicole Major John Beattie Jess Herder Melissa Clarke Melissa Ellis Melissa Hamilton Claude McDermott

Our First Peoples Leading Changemakers spent a session with Paul Garcia, delving into their Gallup CliftonStrengths and Operating Styles and workshopping how to use them to lead, engage & influence. CliftonStrengths can name and describe our talents, but it's only when we put conscious thought, energy and effort into those talents, that they develop into our Strengths. These Strengths are what make us the unique and authentic leaders that have impact and influence. Whether your Strengths lie in Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building or Strategic Thinking, getting to know them and how they show up for each individual is empowering and insightful. What are your Top 5 CliftonStrengths?
