In an emergency, a single sprinkler can make all the difference. This 90-sec video from the FM Research Campus showcases how quickly fire can spread – and why proper protection is vital. Demonstrations like these not only educate – they inspire action. Our research shows facilities with sprinklers emit 97.8% fewer greenhouse gases and use 91% less water during fires, impacting safety and sustainability. Every demo we run has one goal: to drive real change. Thank you to FM's Dereck Mendoza for his dedication to our mission and for helping drive that change. #WeAreFM #FireProtection #Sustainability
This is a demonstration we run for visitors of the FM Research Campus, emphasizing the power of protection. I took a handful of videos I’ve captured over the recent year and compiled them into a 90s summary. The goal of this demo is to provide a live experience reinforcing how fast a fire can grow, how quickly the temperatures rise, and how much of a difference proper protection can make. Both storage racks contain the same commodity, with the only difference between them being a single sprinkler. If demonstrations like this can spur further protective investment in even one of our visitor’s facilities, it’d be worth the time/effort/resources many times over. A research technical report we’ve published on the matter – “Environmental Impact of Automatic Sprinklers” – details how a sprinklered facility emits 97.8% less greenhouse gasses, 91% less water, and other favorable environmental factors in a fire event (apart from the obvious benefit of course, in not having your facility burn down!). These demonstrations can be challenging to work into a packed Research schedule, but have proven to be well-worth the effort in helping inspire real change and action. #fm #research #riskmanagement #resilience #sprinklers
