Los Angeles Partner Peter Langbord successfully defended a real estate investor from a financial elder abuse claim brought by an 86-year-old plaintiff. After a 19-day bench trial, the Court ruled that Peter's client did not commit financial elder abuse when acquiring a property in Oakland from foreclosing lender because the client did not know that plaintiff was challenging the prior foreclosure and title to the property when the client acquired the property from plaintiff’s former lender.
