Because your food choices can change the world

About us

Food Empowerment Project seeks to create a more just and sustainable world by recognizing the power of one’s food choices. We encourage choices that reflect a more compassionate society by spotlighting the abuse of animals on farms, the depletion of natural resources, unfair working conditions for produce workers, the unavailability of healthy foods in communities of color and low-income areas, and the importance of not purchasing chocolate that comes from the worst forms of child labor.

  • Protect the right to organize! Take action with Athena Coalition. Sign the petition linked our bio. 📣 Repost @athenaforall: Want to preserve a pro-worker majority at the National Labor Relations Board? President Biden nominated the chair for a new term, but Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer still hasn’t scheduled a confirmation vote. If the seat stays open, the board will swing to a corporate-friendly majority next year. That’s exactly what Amazon and other corporations want — and we can’t let it happen: buff.ly/3ZECug3 . . . • As we learn more, we have become concerned about the accuracy of labels that come from Western entities and are placed on commodities produced in the Global South. Due to the absence of truly being able to verify this information in the realm of Fair Trade, navigating this terrain with confidence becomes slightly more difficult. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a statement that we fully trust Fair Trade. Learn more about the issues within fair-trade chocolate and coffee here: https://buff.ly/2RT0DMW
